ok so im growig an ancient orange plant outside and was wondering if there was way to keep it cool while it was outside my plants about two months i dont have it rooted directly in the ground its in a pot
wen its outside it droops cuz its so hot so does that mean the roots or the plantyou mean the roots or the plant itself? The plant dosent need to be kept cool, however the roots do. if you are growing in a pot use a big one, to hold lots of medium, and mulch heavy on the top. keep it watered well, if its really hot out you may need to water every day. or, you could get as much mulch as you can and pile it around the pot to keep it cool.
well my plants about 2 months old and its in a potare you moving it around alot? Are you moving it from a shaded area or from in your house to full sun? That will cause it to droop a little, it needs to get climatized to the harsh rays of the sun.
A little drooping is alright if you have just moved it, but really you should have it in a permanent place or you had better be commited to moving it out into the sun first thing in the morning. That will help it build up a thicker cuticle.
If the root ball is getting heated up too then that could be causing the drooping as well.
how big is your pot? how old is the plant?
