I read that in the Medical Marijuana Bible by Cervantes or however you spell his name... but later on in the book he says 'don't ever cut sick leaves unless you absolutely have to!'

He's got some good suggestions but true to the 'bible' there are a lot of contradictions.

Really????? Damn.
There is so much information on the net that it's hard what to trust. Guess that why I gave myself till tomorrow night to figure out whether to cut or to leave them be.

Does anyone prune their plants? Heard about a pin wheel method or something. All about getting light tot he bottom of the plant.

I have a couple of bud sites being covered up by big ass fan leaves.

I for one wouldn't cut any leaves unless it's really sick ... The leaves are essentially solar cells that give the plant energy. Everyone here seems to feel that leaving them on gets you better buds than getting light to the popcorns.

I did math ...

900.5 X .25 = 225.125

225.125 / 28.35 = 7.941 (round up) 8oz

He could lose more moisture than 75% of course, but I decided from that plant that MM knows exactly when to stop drying and start curing, so he will likely have the optimal weight.

The general consensus of what I"ve read says to stop drying when the stems no longer bend but crack, or are just about to. The bud should be firm but not crackling. Some people suggest smoking a small bud to evaluate the drying. The more it tastes like 'freshly mowed lawn' the longer it needs to dry. The buds should weigh about 75% less due to loss of moisture. If you dry too long you get a harsh smoke and the buds 'fall apart.' Then you cure the buds in jars for about a week opening the jars 2 to 3 times a day and gently turning the buds. This promotes even moisture through the bud and gives a better smoke.

I can recite the words verbatim but I'll be damned if I know how to put it into practice, but that's what the literature agrees on (and most of RIU.)

The key to all of it is mid humidity about 45 - 55% RH so they don't dry out too fast, and temps around mid to low 70's to prevent bud rot. Keep buds away from direct light because excess light degrads the THC.

Again I have no practical experience, I'm just vomiting up what I remember reading over and over again. So take it as a 'research indicates' not provin fact.

oh yeah quick question has anyone hear had to cut their plants main cola because it hit the ceiling? Well my diesel has grown past my reflector and about 6" from the ceiling. I doubt this is right but can the bud still grow well by getting its light energy from the leaves below. the cola looks so sweet and I don't want to cut it, but if it hits the ceiling i feel I'm left with no choice.

Cut the branch system's that don'g get much light and thus won't have big buds on them.

If you don't want to trim your bush, have you considered putting some more lights on the sides of the plants? Putting like 2 cfls on each side of it seems like it should help your baby out.

Dude. Tell me about it. Mine was 272.53 and I just started flowering with a 1000w hps and have to run the portable ac all day. Another 1400w. My wife is so going to bitch. Florida flicker and Fuck me is what they should call it.

It's not a bad idea. But I'm trying not to ad anything else that has to eat power in my house. Hell I'm walking around at night with the flashlight from my phone.

You don't think 1000W HPS is enough. They are about 20 inches tall now. I am going to post some picks off my setup in a day or so and get everyone's opinion on if anything looks wack.
