Germination Troubles

Hey all, having some trouble with germination. Tried the wet paper towel on a plate, in a jar, and all in the dark. No signs of sprouting after 5-7 days with regular moistening. I don't know if it's bunk seeds or just my novice ass showing.

Are they bag seeds ? I planted 50 bag seeds, and only 6 of them wound up sprouting.

they need warmth, thats probably the one thing your missing. if you havent ruined (water rot) these seeds yet put them in a paper towel in a zip bag or on a covered plate and place that on top of the cable box ps2 stereo, it just needs to give off a little heat

yep, you probably got a batch of bad seeds... :(
if they pass the squeze test then the reason there not germinating is because its not warm. if he planted seeds that are not white or cracked when squezed they will grow if there in the right condition

have the seeds been kept refrigerated? have they been sitting in a hot place for the last 5 years? the seeds may have expired long before he attempted to germinate them is what i'm saying. seeds will last a long time if properly cared for, otherwise, it's a crap shoot....

dark, room temperature spot. some people use the paper towel and ziploc bag method, then put that in a dvd case for darkness...
