Stealth grow space

I have came to the conclusion that growing weed is the best option for a smoker like me :P

I plan on growing in either a grow box I will put in my closet or in a small cabinet.

I would be growing 1 plant. MAYBE 2.

closet
Dimensions:1.5ftx1.5ft and 5ft tall.

Cabinet
14inches deep, 24inches wide and 21inches tall (would scrog still be possible with such a small heigh?)



Here are my (quite long) list of questions.

1. First and for most which growspace should i use. take in count that if I used to closet I would need to build a cabinet. (Not hard though)

2. What kind of grow technique? (lst, sog etc.)

3. What kind of lamps should I use?

4. Which strain would be the most effective?

(more questions to come. I'm pretty tired but needed to get this topic posted :eyesmoke: )

if thats all you have to work with i would use the closet space itself.....then your next move should be to figure out heat issues first...what is your capability for fresh air? intake needs fresh cool air and an exhaust system. Once that is solved you can move onto the next which would be the lighting. Pending the exhaust will determine which light is best...then move onto the plants and what not

Thanks for the reply!

My room has an A/C unit in its window which keeps my room fairly cold. So the intake fan would always bring in cool air and the exhaust would exit into my room and cool off.

sounds viable but if you have yet to test that, you may want to first. 400 watt would work nicely in that closet if you used all of it...use a cool tube and even better. I have AC in same room like you, and tried this....the heat exhausting in the room made my AC unit kick on twice as much burning up the electric bill. would be better to exhaust out of the room the heat. could grow 2-nice plants in there.

I just done my first grow in a wardrobe about the same size as your closet. I used a 250w envirolite and 2 x 120mm pc fans. Temp always stayed around 27c and I got just over an ounce from 1 plant. :peace:

This is the best I can do in terms of more space:



I decided to trash the whole stealth idea my mom is going to find it anyway. She knows I smoke and is ok with it. She's not an ignorant person so I am quite sure she will be ok with it when I explain to her the benefits. (Free weed, The "you know what they put in the weed that you buy from a dealer blah blah" etc.)

what is behind the back wall? or above ceiling? I think this will be much better than your original idea......growing first time is hard enough...then dealing with space constraints on top of that just makes it darn right crappy!

Behind the back wall is my living room :P.


Step 1 will be to close it off so there no light. Which shouldn't be hard.


Now I need some info on lighting. I'm thinking to grow 2 plants under a 400W HPS or a bunch of CFL's. I don't want to spend huge amounts of money so what option would be the cheapest?

for two plants CFL's . cheaper on electric and put all around the plant, plus no heat issue, just need a PC fan for exhaust.

HPS is good but too much heat issues and more on energy bill. you decide.

personally, i would do a CFL grow in the cabinet. That would be more stealthy than the closet imo. There are some strains out there that stay pretty short like Big Bud but it still has a nice big yield.

Update: I talked to my mom. Shes cool with it as long as I grow no more than 2 plants. I talked to her about growing it in the cabinet and shes not very comfortable with it since its an antique.

So I have decided to grow in my closet with CFL lighting and 2 plants.

How many lights and how many Watt's should each light bulb have?

Most importantly, which strain should I grow? I want something 100% indica or close that's fairly easy to grow.

Nah. I don't smoke in front of her either. My friends mom smokes weed though :P

Anyways, back to the original topic. Could anyone answer the questions in my previous post please :) (Please excuse my pushyness, I'm just very exited to start growing and I want to do things right so I'm trying to get the most suggestions and opinions from you guys)

I'm not trying to be "that guy" but you should ok this with your mom if shes gunna find out because she may lose her house the cops find out (I know its EXTREMELY unlikely for cops to bust on 2 plants but... just somethin to think about).

as mush as you can fit :bigjoint: NO REALLY:fire: more is better. You want 6500K for vegging its the blueish bulb. then soft white or warm for vegging...i think its 4500K

get some Y-splitters OR an electric bar and adapt them to that. I would look for the 42 watters, and if you can get a bigger one for a main light and base your little ones all over around the perimeters. You will still need a fan also.

Ok so I just got back from a long vacation in maine and I see a lot of helpful replies :)

So I decided to do a CFL grow in my closet. Only 1 plant.

I'm just a little confused on how to setup the lights and which lights I should purchase.

I just need to tackle the lighting issue and I am good to go.
