3 Plants per pot 1 is male?

I Have 3 plants (My own cross of berg and Purps) I have a Problem Though. I put 3 plants per pot (tight budget) and 1 is a male. How could I cull it out without causing root-rot or and other problems? could i just Cut it out about 1 1/2 to 2 inches above the soil to prevent rot problems when watering, or should i dig the thing out? Thanks in advance...

how small is the pot/ how big are the roots... if you planted them like spaced out around the pot, and be live that the root mass hasn't grown enough to entangle with the other root systems. i would say pull it out... you could also pull on it gently and try to get your hand under the stem.. then break the roots going to the male, although you will still leave some roots in the pot it will cut down on the risk of root rot.

water them so its moist, cut them apart has best has you can, yes it wont be perfect but they will live, and put them into there own pot

i would probably just chop at soil level. next time invest a 2$ in a couple of used 1-2 gallon planter pots . your local greenhouse, plant store should sell used ones for a buck up to like 2-3 gallons. mine does at least.

Hey chit... about pulling plants and cutting roots and all that. I'm being told that my soil choice was a poor one and that's part the reason why I'm having issues with my plants. Is it possible to pull a plant, remove the majority of the dirt with minimal rootball disturbance and transplant into a better soil? Would this even be worth it? the soil I'm in is an all purpose potting soil that's been sterilized and contains "sedge and sphagnum peatmoss, perlite and vermiculite". It's a house brand from a local nursery. I'm told I should have used sunshine mix #4. Any thoughts on whether it's a good idea at this point (just started flowering light schedule) to try and change mediums or if I should just finish off with what I've got. Definately going to the $4 mix for next round though
