2 weeks in... New pots?

I'm still using the party cups (plastic, beer-type holders) as my initial pots, but at 2 weeks in I have started to wonder, do I need to transplant?

As for pics, my digital is still gone but lets just say that they are on par with that of what most people post as 2 weeks around here. I just need to know when to transplant these bad boys (or girls, lets hope).

yeah you need to transplant but hurry because when the plant starts to bloom it stops growing the roots

I would go ahead and do it. I personally never transplant. I plant them in the pots they are going to stay in, my philosophy is why stress them when you dont need to. Transplanting in my opinion is a un-neccessary shock to the plant. Does nature transplant?

I was thinking the same thing about my plants. I figure I will have to transplant within the next week or so. You can check out pictures of them in my signature.

I am still debating on moving them into 1 gallon containers or just moving them straight to 3 gallon. I have heard mixed opinions. Let me know how it turns out.

I would not think so yet, but I would get them in bigger pots ASAP before any permanent damage is done.

I would get 12 inch pots and fill them with soil. Make sure the soil is packed tight enough so that you can take a cup like your plants are in and make a hole in the middle and the soil doesn't collapse into the hole. Let the soil that your plants are currently in dry out for a couple of days. Then gently, I repeat gently, hold your plant by the stem, give the cup a slight squeeze around the edges so that the dirt seperates from the cup, then turn the cup upside down. The whole thing should fall right out of the cup and retain the shape of the cup. Put the cup-shaped dirt into the hole in the soil. Once your plant is safely in the new pot, water it profusely, really saturate it. You will have transplanted your plant without exposing the roots, therefore causing virtually no stress to the plant.

Right now, two 32w t8 flouro's but I have a 400w HPS system, for 8 plants...

I appreciate the help guys. Also though, when I use the new soil blend for the new pots, whats a good mix and how do I add fertilizer? Is liquid, the green stuff, or the little miracle grow balls the best? The balls seem the easiest, so if anyone has experience, let me know.

I was thinking, 1/4 perlite, 2/4 potting soil, 1/4 vermiculite with a good dose of the ball fertilizers? Or should I still wait til 3-4 weeks before doing any ferts?
