First grow ever..!

This is my first grow. I orderd one top 44 lowrder fem seed. Germinated it two days ago, root came out sucessfully. I planted it yesterday 10/28/09 8:30. I hope this goes well. I would highly appreciate advice. I'll probably post pics as my it grows.

Supplies:

*24in x 43in cardboard box wrapped in emergency blanket.
*1 42 w cfl (will upgrade) with reflector.
*Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil.
*6in plastic pot.

I plan on doing 20/4 all the way through veg then switch to 12/12.

And how often should i water it?

Im growing a LowLife Auto White Russian, day 63 from seed and its going to go another week at least. I suggest keeping your light cycle at 20/4 all the way to harvest. Its an autoflowering strain and will flower regardless of light cycle so you want to give them as much as possible. 24/0 could work even better depending on the strain. Everything else sounds great tho, Make sure you have at least 2-3 of those 42watt 2700k CFL's once she starts budding.

Those autoflowers will be just fine in your 20/4 schedule like in thewoods said no need to go to the 12/12. I would also check out his grow along with others so you know what to expect from your baby.... :-)

I planned on using two 42w for flowering. I mean my box is really small to.

im also growing some top44 right now. im into my 2nd week of flowering and its a pretty easy plant to grow. i did use 6 cfl's for the first 2 weeks then switched to 400w mh/hps bulb. no problems during veg. i used fox farms grow big and by 1 month my baby was 21 inches. im pretty sure yours wont get that if you continue using cfl's but just lettig you know its a fast grower. for watering i think i watered every three days but wouldnt water for a bit even after it breaks soil. i just misted mine for a few days till i noticed to soil getting dry.
