I have my 2 day old plants in 4 quart, or one gallon containers. How tall should I grow them until I start 12/12?

If you want to get the most out of them, I'd let them get about 2' tall, and then flower. Depending on the strain, they'll probably end up around 3 ft tall.

The 1 gal is good for now but you def want to transplant into something bigger like a 3 gal you dont want to risk you plant getting rootbound. The bigger the better. Welcome to the RIU.

Thanks and glad to be here. I Don't have enough room to transplant them into anything bigger when they grow up. I'd like them all to fit under my 400w mh. Theres 3 little guys right now and 3 more I'm waiting on to come up.

2 feet seems a little big to grow them. From my understanding, they shoot up 2x their size when you flower. and the roots go down twice as far as the plant is tall, so I was thinking start flowing at 8-10".

And what happens when they get rootbound?

Oh and I'm growing in the attic where theres only room for them to grow 2' maybe 2.5 feet total with the light.

how big they grow from the time that they are forced flowered has a lot to do with the strain and conditions. An arjans ultra haze clone can be rooted, and vegged for 2 weeks, and it will be 6 ft tall by the time you're done. Certain strains may only grow another half of what they already are. It really depends. If you think 2 is too much, then go with at least a ft. maybe 18 inches.

well all 6 of those are probably not going to be female so you might have enough room.but remember its better to have more root space than less

yeah so if 3 turn out female then is it still worth it to transplant them a couple weeks into flowering?

Does that two feet acount for pot size and distance from the light you are gonna cut it close. Just rember that when you go into flowering the plant will double somtimes triple in size. If i was you i would do a little lst. i wouldnt veg those plant for to long. Some people start flowering right from seed.

In that space, you will not need a 3 gal pot. Trust me. 1 gal is ample for a area 2.5 ft tall. Because the pot is probably 8 inches tall at least. That leaves you with 20 inches AT BEST

NOTE : not ALL pot plants double in size when you flower. It can vary drastically. It's just a rule of thumb.

Routbound is pretty much the root have no where to go so they start growing up wich will stop growth on your plant and pretty much choke it self.

Well theres maybe a max of 3.5' between the soil and the bulb. And yes the pot is about 8"deep.

Ill get pictures up here in a few minutes

Well take 8 in and the light is gonna have to be about 20 in from the soil so that is 30 in give or take a few that are spokin for (Dead space). so mesure 30 in from the floor and tell me how much room you got now.
