LIghts

2700 k and 6500k refer to the color temperature of the bulbs. 2700k emit a reddish light, and are better for flowering. 6500k emit a bluish light, and are better for vegging. 2700k are also called "warm white" and 6500k are called "cool white". Since these lights are not as powerful as HID(high intensity discharge) lights, you will need to place several of them all around the plant at a distance of about 3 to 5 inches, depending on the size of the cfl you buy. Lumens have nothing to do with the color temperature, that is just how bright the light is. Also, cfl's will have 'equivalent' wattages...for example, a 27 watt cfl may say it is the equivalent of a 40 watt incandescent. This just refers to the amount of power it consumes in watts. Therefore,a 27 watt cfl consumes 27 watts of electricity. It does not determine the brightness of said light...lumens do.

lol im a newbie man i just need you or any one in this thread to explain it in a newbish style
Hey Skunk!!
I will try to do just that, as I am fairly new at this as well. What thet are all trying to say is that you need go through a trial run first, like Stoney said here on this thread and spend the money first. I have a 600 watt MH (digital ballast - lights both MH & HPS) & 10 6500k cfl in a 4x5x6 room. I started from a bunch of seeds that I had gotten when the "blueberry" was in. I was on this site before I joined and took in a pile of info, and like you said there is a whole bunch of ways to grow this, but what works for someone else may not work for you. The first grow is always going to be the toughest because you are unsure of what to next, but there is no better a teacher than doing it yourself and LEARNING from your mistakes lol. Whatever it is you need to know you will find on this site, it just takes a bit to figure out where to find it, and if you screw up !! oh well try not to do it again. These "babies" are now 4 weeks old, and I have another 4 to go before I flower, but as you can see even a "newbie" like me can grow this. I just took 4 cuttings from each plant, and am now trying my hand at cloning.... (like I knew how to do that before here lol ) and we will see what happens, and if they don't take.... try it again. We are all on here to help each other grow better herb. The most important thing is to have patience, these do not grow, harvest and smoke within a month lol. Good Luck to you and ask any questions you may have, I will try to help where I can:bigjoint:

You can get them all the way to 250 watts you just need a mogul base(same as MH/HPS) and some 14 gauge wire which you can then connect to the socket and wire a 3 prong plug-in ( you want to ground it.... working around water) and plug it in and away you go lol

those are 26 watt daylight bulbs or 6500k (kelvin) they say thay the 65 watt give the best bang for your buck kinda like the 600 watt hps. After this grow I think the ghetto hood will move into the veg/clone closet and I will get a couple of 125 watt cfl's ( you can get in both 2700k & 6500k) and hang them in the room
