pumping oxygen directly to the rootmass

i heard that the roots use 02 to develope and its obvious that a plant needs oxygen. anyway i was wondering if it would be beneficial to pump 100% oxygen in tubes directly into the dirt into the rootmass. would this help or would the 02 just dry out the roots and kill the plants?
any ideas?

It would be creating a root environment that was totally foreign and unnatural. Unlikely to be helpful.

If you want to pump air directly to your roots try DWC or aeroponics. And don't use 100% oxygen because you will probably cause O2 toxicity. They mainly use CO2 for photosynthesis and give off O2 as a byproduct. Too much O2 in the rootzone could be disastrous.

sweet thanks for the input guys...would it be beneficial to my grow if i hauled a huge tank of co2 in there and let it run at a low litre per minute rate?
i use a good amount of perlite in the promix. i add a lot because i want very good drainage...when we water there should be run off coming out the bottom right?

CO2 is definitely good. Get something that tells you how much CO2 you are using. Too much could be dangerous for you. I always water so that there is runoff. It supposedly helps keep salts from building up and prevents dry pockets in the soil. Best of luck my friend. :bigjoint:
