How do i wire two of these light fittings, into one mains 3 pin plug.

I know its parrallel or something,

here is the picture of the two light fittings im talking about

The 3 pin mains plug i have ( im in uk obviously...3pin ) the wires come out in three colours, BLUE, BROWN AND YELLOW/GREEN

How do i wire it up to this plug?

I am in US so it is different but I understand a little about your electrical wiring.starting w/ the plug,look here

the brown(hot) wire will go from the plug to the center terminal on both fixtures
the blue (neutral) wire will go from the plug to the outer terminal on both fixtures
the green/yellow wire will be the ground & gets attached to a metal part of the lamp (if any)
when you look at the lamp fixture, you will notice that 1screw terminal goes to the center post in the light socket & the other goes to the base that the light screws into,the center post should be attached to the brown wire.
you can wire the wires to go from 1 light to the next (plug--light--light)or run a seperate wire to each light and join them to form a Y using wirenuts. like this

yea im using a plug from a pre-existing product, just chopped it off, so gonna wire it to the two. I sort of get what you mean, im a bit tired now will have a go tommorow or something, If anyone else knows anything would be useful

i just tried doing this,
in the process i nearly fucking killed myself,
i got a massive electric shock and everything in the house turned itself off, my hear was racing and my muscles twitching all over my body.
i think its something to do with the earth, im really really fucking scared to try and wire these up again now... The earth wire is attached to a metal thing...should i disconect it somehow!
what should i do !!

Your best bet is to use strip connectors its safer, I have 2 bulb holders connected using a strip connector
Make sure you use the correct wire ,cut 3 lengths of cable desired length, connect 1 to the plug then the other end to the strip connector , then put the other 2 lengths into the other side of the strip connector matching up the colors ,then join the other ends to the bulb holders
sorry if its hard to understand i'm stoned
Don't forget to wrap the connector with insulating tape when your finished

ive still got fucking electricity in my body i can feel it,

i tested it out by just wiring one...i think its because i touched the earth by accident, or because its screwed to metal. I pinned both the wires under the screw thingies ( if you know what im talking about ) it didint have a positive or negative side so did it matter which way i did it?

always wondered why the UK went w/ 220 volts for standard wiring.anything over 200 volts hurts like a bitch.here in US we use 110 volts,it doesnt tickle but not as painful.I will swap a outlet or lightswitch live because I am too lazy to walk to the breaker.

it didint have a positive or negative side so did it matter which way i did it?

it does matter which way its done. if you look at the screw thingies(aka screw terminals) you will see 1 leads to the center post of the bulb & the other leads to the base that the bulb screws into.the 1 that goes to the center is your hot leg & gets the brown wire.my guess is you wired it bacwards and had the hot wire going to the base so when you touched it.....
if/when you try it again, wire it up,set it down and plug it in carefully.
you got zapped because you were touching something grounded when you touched something hot.
quick lesson about electricity,it is looking for a path to the earth,also called earthground or just ground. it can travel through your body to get to ground.
common paths to ground is the blue or green/yellow wires,any water pipe,concrete in contact w/ the earth or any metal in contact w/ the earth.if you are wearing dry rubber soled shoes and not touching anything grounded,you can touch the brown wire while it is plugged in.grab a water faucet while holding the wire & the current will travel through you to the pipe to ground.
work carefully & pay attention to grounds and you should be OK

more thoughts,
if the light socket is attached to metal,ground the metal. this way if you wire it backwards,the metal will be grounded and if it comes in contact w/ the hot wire,it will spark & pop the fuse/breaker.
wear a rubber glove when you first plug it in or if you can,plug it into an outlet that is controlled by a switch.

Inform yourself 100% before trying any electrical work.
Do not be a dumbass hugging the cap.
It is obviously over your head, heart and safety.
Is it worth your life?
Your lucky, cause you could have died.

Anyways, you have now learned you must drain the capacitor first before touching anything.
Whether plugged in or not, to simplify it, capacitors act like a storage battery, and unless you drained it to a ground, it is ready to kill.

OK but the picture shows he is using a CFL & not a HPS or MH.

groww,b4 you get confused, snaggy is talking about a HPS system -they have a capacitor that stores energy like a battery. nothing to do w/ a CFL

220, while it hurts twice as much to get shocked with. It is a better voltage, especially for grow room. To figure out the max wattage you can run without blowing a circiut you use ohms formula. (Amps x volts = watts) and westinghouses 80% rule. So in the us we run 120 volts.
Say you have a 20 amp breaker and 120 volt power. 20 x 120 = 2400
80% of 2400 is 1920. So with 20 amps and 120 volts you shoulnd run more than 1920 watts through that circuit. But what if we had 220 voltage and the same amount of amps. 20 x 220= 4400. 80% is 3520. So you could pull 3520 watts through the same curciut. Thats why in the us dryers and high wattage equptment is hooked up to 220 and the rest of the house is 120

Hallo what I would do is take a 3 pronged plug with black/white/ground and connect the ground to the yellow/green and brown to black blue to white and then plug it in voila you have success.

if you are connecting two lights then simply put them both on the circuit by running wires from both sockets to the plug cord and connecting all three of each color with wire nuts.

there are 3 wires, two of them are free and one is connect to a metal plate ( its taken from an amplifyer - thats the ground ) should i just ignore that and use the positive and negative in the light fixture doing it how that guy told me ( the right ones on the right terminals ) wear rubber shoes and whatever and put the light in and then plug it.

dude it doesnt matter, i will wire the shit up obviously un plugged but when i plug it in, im gonna turn it on at somepoint its just im confused about the terminals...-_- ahh bloody ell

Yeah, but it DOES matter when you're in there twittling with it. Put your finger in the wrong spot and BLAMMO. If you mess with it while it's off, the worst that happens is you blow a fuse when you kick it back on. If you do it hot, the worst that can happen is . . . we'll never find out how this story ends.

And I don't know crap about wiring in the UK. So the best I got is: don't lick the red wire.
