I joined this thread really late, but OH MY GOD! Im looking at my dream garden!(When Im able to grow indoor again)
Thank you brother for your kind words.
I just got my Himalayan Gold from TH Seeds(thus the reason I was looking for a thread like this), and you've convinced me I made a good choice in strain and breeder. You look VERY close to harvest, brother. Everything in your garden looks potent as hell! Excellent job!
My himalayan gold is from Green House Seeds. No question in GHS being a good breeder, I am dropping Himalayan after this crop because it hermied on me. I am pulling bananas everyday.
Of course you could be luckier and actually end up with a non hermie HG.
I am really hoping it turns out potent, it certainly looks lite it.
If you dont mind, I got a couple of questions about how the Himalayan Gold performed. As I said, I've got a few of those I'll be growing. If not, it's fine. But if you'll be so gracious...
Brother I don't mind at all, ask as many questions as you want and I will give you my honest opinion. There are plenty of folks here with a lot more knowledge than me, as this is only my first grow, but I will do my best to help you.
My first(and most important) question is... Did it strike you as a RESILIANT strain? Reason being, I plan to grow my Gold outdoors in gorilla gardens. Does it strike you as a strain that would be durable enough to grow in a setting to where it will be pretty much left completely by itself?
Yes HG is a very strong plant, it can deal with hot and cold temps much better that a lot of other strains. Also it has some good resistance to mold. My OG is getting attacked and taking it, but the PM is barely touching the HG. So there is no question that this would be an excellent outdoor plant, perhaps even better than indoor.
My second question is... How bad is the smell? Can you differentiate which smells worse? The OG or the Gold?
The smell is not bad at all, I can definitely differentiate the smell. My pheno doesn't smell much like weed, it smells like pineapple/lemon musky smell. The OG smell is much stronger.
My third and final question has to do with how fast it grows. Seeing as how I'm gonna' be growing mine outdoors, bugs will be a problem. If the Gold grows really fast, than the plant will literally grow faster than the bugs, and I wont have as much of a problem.
HG could very well be one of the fastest growing plants. Look back at my pictures, I have flowering pix by the day, posted daily or every other, see for your self how fast this girl flowered.
Thanx alot for taking the time to post this journal, brother. Hopefully it'll be as helpful to others as it was for me.(I took notes on how you did everything.)
You are welcome bro. I leaned just the way you are doing, from doing research and reading how others go about growing.
Hopefully I can take something from your grow that can help me this summer as well... I need all the help I can get! Im planning to grow(between my brother and I) Super Silver Haze, Himalayan Gold, A-Train, Mama Mia, Canna Sutra, and some of Seedsmans Original Skunk #1.
Sounds like you got some good genetics to play with, I reckon you and your bro will have a blast this summer.
All, but the Canna Sutra will be grown outside in small gorilla gardens. Im hoping I have some resiliant strains that will be fine standing alone for weeks at a time. I'm going through these forums getting the input on each strain, from experienced growers, such as yourself, as to which strains can be pretty much left alone for weeks on end.
LOL I am not an experienced grower, this is the first time I have ever grown anything in my life. But thank you so much for such a huge compliment, it really uplifted my spirits today, as I am having kind of a shitty day dealing with pain.
Once I establish which ones can be trusted to be self-sufficient, I can figure out which ones need to be put closer to home. The strains that are very resiliant can be put in gardens miles away, and not worried about.
That is a good Idea, I am guessing that A-train and HG both will be strong enough to be on their own.
Thank you again, for the help. And Im sorry if it seems that I've hijacked your thread with questions. Im just very impressed, and now seek your advice.
You welcome again. No need to be sorry for asking questions. Really post in my thread as much as you want, I am a chill laid back guy, shit even post jokes, videos, or what not I don't mind.
