topping gone bad

i topped my plant 2 days ago and there is no new growth, where i topped it turned brown as well, did i do it wrong if the stem thats topped turns brown at the topped location?

maybe has an infection where it died. You don't want to leave a lot of exposed stems and stuff when you cut. I think your overreacting. Those little leaves inbetween the nodes witll start to grow bigger just give em a few weeks.

What they said. topping a plant freaks it out a little and stunts growth for a small period of time. once it heals itself completely, the new tops will shoot up dramatically. It'll be fine :)

:-P Well the technical way of saying that is ~ Where you sniped it off it will stop growing there and start healing, so every node below will get more auxins/hormones and that means faster growth for them. The lower you snip the longer the lower limbs will grow up.

everytime i have topped a plant i have seen growth in 4 to 5 days or so and they growth rate is greatly increased

I did the same here. I cut below the 3rd true node and i didnt know where to cut it so i just cut the stem in the middle of the 3rd and 4th node. So is there suppose to be new growth there or in the nodes below where i cut?? I dont understand this topping method....then again this is my first start at it!! Thanks
