Hey Brother, I have been doing hours of reading on DE and it is supposed to work on mites. Apperaently you can mix it in water bottle and use as a foliar spray. Supposed to shred them to shit. Might be worth a try. Also, they say it doesn't hurt the buds either as long as it isn't clumped on ro something. I don't have personal experience with mites or DE( yet), but sinc you are waiting for that mite-rid stuff, you can probably pick this up at any hydro store for like 10 bucks a pound. If you do, make sure it is food grade and not the pool stuff.

I read those articles you linked in your thread and Im thinking I'll try some DE after I try this Mite Rid. but will definitely pick some up to have if I ever run into any aphids. do aphids tend to be more prevalent in coco or they like soil too?

really like the idea of the DE being like a shit ton of razor blades just ready to slice all these asshole bugs

going to take cuttings tomorrow from my grapefruit diesel seedlings :-) I decided Im just going to clone them completely and leave nothing on them, so then I'll just take the strongest cuttings as my next mothers.

Im going to put the cuttings into rapid rooter plugs and keep under my humidity dome. Im going to use the clone ex packet of rooting gel that came with my tray and plugs but Im considering getting another cloning gel like Juicy Roots cuz a few buddies who work at the hydro store says it makes roots almost twice as big and strong as clone ex and it's only $15 a bottle compared to $22 for clone ex.

should I also pick up some thrive alive or anything like that? I really dont want to fuck this batch up so Im not cutting any corners. all suggestions on cloning is welcomed and more than appreciated. lol well only if it pertains to rapid rooters, fuck off all you bubble cloners ;-)

I know Ive been lacking with the updates.. Ive been a bit discouraged since i know my harvest is going to be a lot lighter than I wouldve liked. but it is my first full run indoor so i guess it couldve been worse.

so this week is week 10 but im letting them go for 11 so i'll do a harvest update when i chop them down.

I took 43 cuttings from my grapefruit diesel mothers and just completely chopped them up since I plan on mothering a couple of the strongest clones, lol well if they root so everyone knock on wood cuz this would be my first successful batch. im a known clone killer :wall:

I'll definitely do an update on my cuttings once they root here in a couple days tho and then I'll start my new thread for the grapefruit diesel run, so stoked! :weed:

i have 100% sucess with my clones, i wanna help bro. i use rapid rooters, and the clone dome. for me, after cutting i put in the dark for up to 2 1/2 days, until they perk up again. this method works works because of the branches stored energy in the stem. while in the dark i also got the warm pad on. i put pensils as insulation between the pad and dome because that thing gets hot, or spend $30 and get a temp regulator, unnesessary for me. keep them damp, not wet. all root hormones are fundementally the same, i use dyna gro root hormone. my clones root in 15 days. i dont cut them under water. i do cut them at 45* angle. i do shave off like 3/16" of the bottom of the cutting. i take my cuttings off of the top, and bottom of the plant. fine tip scissors, or razor works. don't even touch the plugs till at least 10-12 days. i spray the plugs twice a day, a couple of sprays, and the dome till its droppy!

#1 cutting tip, if its droopy its drying out, give it less light, or no light till it perks up, and it will perk up. good luck bro, you got the skills. i know how frustrating it is.

They will root man, I am confident of it. I have had 100% success with cloning too, but I don't do the darkenss thing although it does sound interesting. just be patent and gentle with them until they get a good root ball. I almost threw a couple out this run because they wilted withon hours of moving them from the aero cloner to coco, but within a few more hours they were fine and now they look great.
You'll be fine, they are a weed and root fairly easy. Nothin but postive thoughts for ya here man :)

thanks for all the kind words fellas :-)

I have a good feeling about this batch and theyre looking a lot better than any other cuttings I have taken. made sure not to cut any corners this time with the sterilization and all. but I was a little off-put when I read a thread and saw a video of Big Mike from AN endorsing H&G's root accelerator over his root accelerator "Jump Start" that I had just bought a day before I saw that thread haha just my luck. but whatever, the H&G accelerator is more than twice as much at my hydro store so Im sure the AN will work just fine. but definitely not using any other of AN's products besides the Juicy Roots and Jump Start cuz I think theyre just fancy and overpriced bottles that are super dodgy about whats in them. I want to try a bloom booster tho in my next run so I need some proven products. I know Raider uses some shooting powder right? Im trying to stay as organic as possible, so just keep that in mind ;-)

interesting you keep them out of light for a couple days. Ive heard of people doing this but I was a bit nervous to take that route cuz Im used to everyone running 24/0 on their cuttings.

you think they root faster when you keep them in the dark? maybe less stress too?

and I should pick up a heat mat but I got a little heater that I turn on to keep temps 75 in the dome and then I put the tray up on a couple 5 gal buckets and run the heater under the tray for a couple minutes to warm the plugs

so I have a question-- you guys think my yield dramatically improve if I SCROG'd each individual plant in 1.5 gal containers with its own screen and then fit 16 or 20 into my flower space doing a SOG as well. my space is about 4x4. I think it'd look bad ass too

great man, do what works for you, i found what works for me. 10-15 day to root works fine with me. some of my riu buddies get theirs to root in 7 days. they run a heat mat, with a temp regulator. i dont have a regulator. $30 expense, considering my setups run me $2000 so far, i know im stubborn. but i dont need them to root fast, i just want 100% sucess. only give them dark, or less light, if they wilt. that is the key, and i feel, my cloning secret. they wilt because they're drying up, putting them in the dark helps them use the'r stored energy to get rooting!
i eep the heat pad on for two hours a day, not all day, for the first two days.

Hey man, I don't know if you already bought the AN root excel, but the Root excel by H&G is a concentrate. 1ml per gal is all you need. It will last twice as long as the AN. As for the scrog, you probably already know how I feel. I really like the idea of each plant having it's own screen. I thought about trying to do womething similar. That way you can move them around if you need to.

ha yea I bought the AN jump start a day before I saw the video of Big Mike from AN suggesting H&G's excel over AN. will definitely get some for the next batch tho cuz Ive heard nothing but good things with H&G.

but I was wondering if it would really help considering with most scrog's you use less plants and let them just fill the screen so I wasnt sure if such a small screen would make a difference in yield. guess I could just make the screen a little wider that the containers. mobility is definitely the biggest issue that comes to mind when planning a scrog in my limited space so it seemd like a screen on each one would work. a little more veg time would be needed but I think itd be worth it bongsmilie

i like the scrog concept. helps keep ur plant amount down (for legal reasons) and is good for support. u widen out ur canopy which is where all the light is focused (on the main colas) u can incorporate things like FIM and LST to get multiple tops and weave them thru the netting. im still workin on spacing issues for my design as well. doin a scrog on each individual pot mite be easier to move then like wat RF and myself are doin (scrog a 4x4 area) cuz ure limited to accessing the plants. but yield could def be worth it.

and about the cloning, i use root excel and superthive (which isnt exactly organic from my understanding) but it works. i also use a humidity dome for the first few days with a thermometer and a heatpad. ours root within 10days usually. i like to speed shit up since time is money so IMO its worth the money (if u have it in the budget) but ure learning the best way brotha from experience. keep it up
