the two pc fans i use are ac power, 4.25 in x 4.25 in, and LOUD. they work great, i just dont need them to work thattt great. its a 2.5 by 3 by 3.5 foot growbox, and im using cfls, so the temps shouldnt be getting too high, but it is hard to keep them down without the fan always being on - in which case its loud as SHIT
can anyone please tell me a good fan speed adjuster that they USE or USED - i got the Speedster fan adjuster, and it is either just barreelllyyyyy slower and quieter, or if you bring it into the supposed medium range the fans stop from lack of power - the high range only gives one speed too
anywho, +rep to anyone and everyone who gives helpful advice or recommendations - thanks everybody

Since you have a very um basic looking setup, try this.. this is how I quietend my 1st STEALTH kitchen cupboard grow, Seal a pvc cake mix bowl, or simerlar over both of the fans from the outside with a bathroom sealant you can screw it in place for stability, then melt/cut/drill a hole in the center of each making sure the hole is the right size to comfortably fit a washing machine drain hose to them, put a normal sports sock over the end of your exhaling fans drain hose, and tape it on. then hide it behind your unit, with a drain hose attached in the same way to you inhaling fan but with a piece of net curtain taped over the end of the pipe to stop dust/bugs etc from entering your growroom, you can either extend the pipe so its away from you either in another room, in a boarded up chimney or to an air vent, the 2 outside options give you grade A fresh air and since they suck air in and do not exhale, on cold days there will be no steam outside of the vent/chimney, and if you just extend the pipe to another cupboard or room etc you will achieve much much QUIETER noise whilst the fans are running, if this seems like to much hassle, lol, I did this and it worked awesome since my wife n I sleep in the same room hardly anything can be heard. BUT if this is to much hassle, try just using one exhaling fan and just allow that fan to pull air in from your other un-plugged fan port, if your cupboard is sealed well so no light leaks are visable in the dark the negative vacuum the sucking fan creates should be enough to slowly turn your inhaling fan anyhow

you could just use smaller cpu fans and use a hacked phone charger to run them, or you can wait till i find the name of a fan speed controller i used ages ago! the dimmer switch works in the same way...exactly the same way so in slowing your fans it also decreases the noise of them too, hope this helps more
