i saw a nutrient challenge where they grew a strain called Berlin with 4 or 5 different brands of nutreitns with all plants having the same conditions. Advanced nutrients a victor in density weight and thc content. is this true? because my local shop guy told me its just good marketing and that my gh 3 part was just as good if not better. any input?
Yeah, I've seen that video too. And I think it's hard to tell whether you can trust anything these days.
I mean, everyone wants to point out the good things their product does - obviously. They want to make money. But whether the results can be trusted? I personally like to take things at face value UNTIL they can be proven otherwise.
So, if you're not sure you can believe what you see, you might want to take on your own personal nutrient challenge. See what Advanced Nutrients and the other nutes can do for your grow. That way, you can see without any doubt whether the nutes work as well for you as they did for the challenge.
Now, something to keep in mind, chances are good AN was able to control the environment really, really well. Since most growers can't or don't do this, this might factor into the results.
HOwever, that said, it might also be a good lesson in making sure your grow room is always clean, has the right temp, right humidity, etc. That way, you know that if any nutes work really well, it's the nutes and not the room.
And vice versa.
I think if you were to ask a group of growers what nutes to use, they're all going to tell you something different. And those opinions, if based on actual experience, are far more helpful than commercials. IMHO.
It just takes more work to test things out for yourself. Though it's definitely worth it.
