i saw a nutrient challenge where they grew a strain called Berlin with 4 or 5 different brands of nutreitns with all plants having the same conditions. Advanced nutrients a victor in density weight and thc content. is this true? because my local shop guy told me its just good marketing and that my gh 3 part was just as good if not better. any input?

Something like that, even if unbiased, is way too simple to base any conclusions on it. Pick any of the top nutes, AN, GH, FoxFarms or my choice, Humboldt, and you will be fine.

I currently use GH Flora series and have had no problems. But my friends have talked me into switching to holland select for my next grow. I will see how it does on the same strains I have now and compare the differences if any to the yeild or grow time.bongsmilie

thats what i figured. every strain has different needs and its not about feeding straight off a chart. u have to actually feel the plants and judge them if theyre deficient of any trace elements. theres no magic pill. But they made it seem like it really made the biggest difference. could someone google "nutrient challenge advanced nutrients" check it out and lemme kno wat you think. i wo

Yeah, I've seen that video too. And I think it's hard to tell whether you can trust anything these days.

I mean, everyone wants to point out the good things their product does - obviously. They want to make money. But whether the results can be trusted? I personally like to take things at face value UNTIL they can be proven otherwise.

So, if you're not sure you can believe what you see, you might want to take on your own personal nutrient challenge. See what Advanced Nutrients and the other nutes can do for your grow. That way, you can see without any doubt whether the nutes work as well for you as they did for the challenge.

Now, something to keep in mind, chances are good AN was able to control the environment really, really well. Since most growers can't or don't do this, this might factor into the results.

HOwever, that said, it might also be a good lesson in making sure your grow room is always clean, has the right temp, right humidity, etc. That way, you know that if any nutes work really well, it's the nutes and not the room.

And vice versa.

I think if you were to ask a group of growers what nutes to use, they're all going to tell you something different. And those opinions, if based on actual experience, are far more helpful than commercials. IMHO.

It just takes more work to test things out for yourself. Though it's definitely worth it.

i use gh-flora 3 part nutes with a couple of additives i have a friend who uses fox farm nutes we grow same strain & e&f also he uses hydro ton & i use rockwool our yields & quality are about the same i flood 7-10 days, he floods daily i like gh nutes theyre probably not absolute best & even some of their own products are a lot of hype aimed at more sells if something works for you its all good but i think you should keep an open mind & not be afraid to try new things especially if you see someone get good results with it
