Time to End "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"

That is clear thinking, you simply can't recognize it.

Dogma. What dogma? Everyone is equal. The Constitution guarantees it.

Straight marriage. Accepted.
Gay marriage. In-your-face.

If you can't see the difference; it is not the comparison which is invalid, it is your critical thinking.

If procreation is the basis for the open acceptance of heterosexual couples, then why are people rendered infertile either by age or infirmity allowed to marry without scorn? When they marry, it is not in-your-face.
if you can get this country back to following the constitution id be really happy...it gaurentees a lot of things that are being ignored by our "elected" officals

Most straight people don't realize how 'in-your-face' their actions are because heterosexuality is commonly accepted.

Would you expect a woman who received flowers from her beau to hide them, too?

Man and woman kiss on a public street. Accepted.
Man and man kiss on a public street. In-your-face.

Heather has a Mommy and a Daddy. Accepted.
Heather has two Mommies. In-your-face.

Padawan, I realize you have little comfort in hearing what I have to add here, "alas"....here it goes.

Rick has points you will refuse to acknowledge with even an ounce of credence. Open up to reality.

Coming from someone who has been surrounded by gay men on all too many occassions...he is not lying.

Gay men, in general, are overbearing in exerting every extension of themselves. They do indeed have a deep need to be accepted. We all do. Where general acceptance does not suit them, an everlasting excessive need to draw attention to themselves in an exravagant manner leads to childish temper tantrums......and God help us---in the name of petty lawsuits, if not accordingly balanced.

+rep here too. If Rick thinks his one experience: "I once worked with a couple gay guys..." is justification enough from which to base his belief on, more power to him. It speaks volumes about how he thinks (or doesn't).

And just yesterday Johnny and I were arguing. Rick is a uniter, not a divider.

Wow, that was the one of the most ridiculously stupid rants I have ever heard. Way to use hyperbole and over-generalize while speaking from your anal cavity.

Thanks.

Christians have very little idea how in-your-face their beliefs are to a Jew.

Meat-eaters have little understanding of how in-your-face their diet is to a vegetarian.

Anti's have no notion that Prohibition is in-your-face to us.

And heterosexuals have no concept that thier sexuality is in-your-face to a homosexual.

The majority simply does not understand that their positions are in-your-face to the minority.

In-your-face is the American way.

I don't think he's lying, I think he's misguided, using examples from his personal life which makes his opinion biased. We're all biased one way or another, so we should probably use some other way to come to reasonable, rational conclusions about important things. That just makes sense, right?

I have a feeling if society didn't ostracize all other minorities, the minorities wouldn't feel it necessary to stand up and make it known they will be accepted at the cost of your comfort. I'd do the same thing, with a huge smile on my face. :bigjoint: (as I somewhat do now, being an atheist - also a minority)

...and if lawsuits are the worst of the response to fighting for equal rights, that would be a gigantic step in progress! Do you remember the days of dogs and fire hoses?

I can't give the guy enough credit, him and I disagree on a few things, but he's always willing to explain his position in a pretty well thought out way, a great example for conservatives to admire.

I trust these kind words are for Johnny, and I agree. He gave me a justification that was harder to fight against on a different topic than most of what I see around here. We may still disagree, but it is more of a respectful disagreement, at least on my part. I had some strong words though, so Johnny may feel otherwise...if so, I am sorry
