Question about germinating?

I have 5 bubblelicious seeds and i have them in a moist paper towel behind my xbox in a container. they have been there for almost 24 hours and they have all cracked and like 3 have roots poking out about quarter of an inch. i was wondering if i should put them all in my soil since they have cracked or should i wait a little longer? and do they need light soon as i put them in the soil or do i wait until they sprout?

thanks RIU!

The point in germinating is so you don't waste time planting dead seeds. Once they crack, transplant them right away. You don't have to put them under light just yet. You technically have a day or two, but their going to come out of the soil pretty fast and when they do, you should have ample light close by. Otherwise they will stretch and can become lanky.

thanks a lot man, that helps a lot!
anyone else with any more advice?

what the guy above me said. just plant them as soon as they have that little first root coming out. i've left seeds of all sorts floating in my fish tank, suddenly i come buy one day and this been has sprouted in the water with a 4-5 inch root, planted it, grew like a weed!

oh and i've heard some people put them in complete darkness and some people just put them on the window seal or something, what should i do?

they don't need light until after they sprout from the soil and have a leave.i normally put seeds into peat pucks until they look healthy then put them into a hempy buckets its a lot easier then growing in soil.plus it allows for a smaller bucket with a bigger yield.

I put the cracked seed, tail down into the soil about 1/2 inch deep...maybe a bit less. Then lightly moisten the soil and cover the pot with saran wrap and poke a few air holes. I just leave it in the corner until it sprouts out, then sunlight from the window for a day or two before she's off to the cab.

bubblelicious is pretty easy to grow and it's very hardy. I have a few growing outback right now. My soil mix was 50% MG seed starting mix, 30% perlite, and 20% worm castings. I started it in a 6" pot, but even a plastic milk jug or 2 liter bottle will work. If this is your first grow, you want to be careful not to over water or over feed. The mix above gave everything my plants needed for the first three weeks. Then I began feeding once a week. Worm castings is one of the safest things you can give it... safe meaning the least likely to burn & kill your plants. oh... once it pops its little head out about an inch or more, put on a fan near it so it builds the stem up.

A single 42 watt CFL (100watt equivalents) two inches away from the plant will last about a week. To get through the first month you want 100-200 watts. After that, you can either add more lights or hard it off and transplant it outside. Spring is just around the corner. If you plant outside during March 20 - April 5th, you'll end up with some nice sized plants.
