Hey Steth. Jats a grower on the Aussie forum who is a seasoned warrior had some mates over from the states and they were raving about these LEDS for their medical grows. I know nothing about it but heres a link in case you are interested. He says they are all using them...
http://www.hydrogrowled.com/index.ph...mart&Itemid=41
I was interested to take a look at this link however I only got this message below :-

HIGH POWER LED 30W

14th February 2007: Stop Press:

MEGALED present a new "MEGA-LED", this
is a 30W "High Power" Power-LED in a very small package,
we will very shortly have limited import samples of these
available for sale.

Above: A MEGA-LED which is effectively a 30W High Power LED
with serious "lighting power" . In terms of lumens per watt
our engineers are taking a very close look at this products
possible applications and prossibilities.

Power-LED 30W

PACKAGE / MECHANICAL DIMENSIONS: 30W High Power LED:

Overall Diametre 32mm, including solder tabs 50mm.
17.39mm overall height from base of M6 stud for easy
mounting to aluminium Power-LED heat-sink or
LED Fixture housing.

High Power LED Specification Details

SAMPLES/PREVIEW PICTURES OF
HIGH POWER LED 30W # ML-30W
coming soon.

Within a few weeks or so, we post some samples pictures,
of this LED with some amazing photos for your consideration.

The curent MEGALED verdict: This is an absolutely amazing
"MEGA-LED" even if the lumen-maintenance requires some
consideration in your designs. This is a clever multi-chip LED
package which is easy to work with and bound to improve.
We see this Power LED package being accepted by light designers
and lighting companies who want to design compact
fixtures in a very small footprint with seriously high
lumen output. This LED is not "cheap", but does offer a very high
value in terms of cost/lumens or lumens/package size.
Overall this is an absolutely amazing package.

NEW ARTICLES COMING SOON ON HIGH POWER-LEDS.
MEGALED WILL SHORTLY BE HIGHLIGHTING THE TRENDS
IN HIGH POWER-LEDs in an exclusive article which tracks
the recent trends of LED Lighting. We will be documenting,
how the LED Chip, Lamp or Die Package has evolved rapidly
over the last five years. In essence this document will comment
on the various LED package technologies and those
involved in developing high power-leds, we will chart the major
improvements as the LED has moved from indication into illumination
and, look at various processes to ensure some tips which will
give you the maximum. The maximum light and minimum
heat from your high power leds...

Hey Mookie Brown, I was well impressed so I added the caption to my thread, I wonder how long it'll be before one of these super high powered diode LED's gets used in a grow? Its strange to think that one of these new single LED hybrids is more powerful than a whole 90w Led UFO with 90 single 1w Leds, so I think providing there is a good way to make them run cool, then maybe a cluster of these 100w badboys could be better than say a 1000w HPS? - possibly?? - STELTHY

Bro, Last night I posted a thread "Am I high for thinking I can grow with a single 100watt LED bulb" Check it out. I even added a seller who sells 100watt led's for $84us & he also sells AC power drivers  Not sure if these are the same 100watt led's but worth to look.

Hey stelthy. With your carbon filter how well does it remove the smell. I keep reading all over this site and others that they dont work etc etc. If i am forking out $120 for one i want it to do a decent job.

I dont know about all manufacturers but speaking with experience from CAN FILTERS they are very very good the expelled air released from the Carbon Filter is so clean that even when you poke your nose up close to it its insainly hard to even detect the slightest of bud smells, I will never go back to not using a filter they are worth every penny in more ways than just one :) - STELTHY:leaf:

This pic was taken a day before my heater problem occured! so this is my last pic of Jack Herer fully grown under LEDs and CFLs I gotta say it "fuck , fuck fuck fuck F U C K !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I went out and left my grow cupboard heater on temps hit 40 oC and frazzled the tops of my cola's, I was only 2 days into flush.... and I had to think fast SO..... I harvested today! well Half harvested today.. I decided to lop off the 4 main colas give them a trim and put them on a rack in my chest of drawers, and then revert the flush back to half strength nuits to bump up the size of the lower branches and hopefully get my moneys worth. BASTARD! one day to go fucking heaters ARGH!!!!!!!!! Ill up load pics in a min... to be honest its not a bad harvest and I hope the slightly frazled tops will mean less drying time lol...well at least I am a little closer to my new 400w HPS setup now I do feel like kicking myself hard though cos I have taken every neccesary step to ensure lovely sweet ladies and 1 night out cost me the pretty tops! Ill add pics in a min - STELTHY

Ah its not so bad look at it this way, this is just the top section of Jack Herer, I still have my little Skunk/Cheese cross, and the lower half of Jack Herer to harvest in a few weeks time, now that I have trimmed off the slightly frazzled leaves from the tops of each cola the main buds are still sticky and stinking real good! Have not bothered to weigh cos wet weights not really important to me but guesses on dry weight are welcomed :) - STELTHY

Glad this has made for an interesting read, and proved to the growing community that LEDs can work if used correctly, I will have a taster, and I still have hash to make in my pollonater, I ll be doing this this afternoon I expect, once my mate arrives :) and once the buds are dry enough I still have my Wray n Nephew 63% rum and THC tincture to make so this threads nowhere near finished yet :) keep following new info soon to come - STELTHY:leaf:

I hate to rain on your parade but you need to peruse the archives of EDN re high power LEDs. Read any and all comments about droop. They are trying to get the architectural market established and have made some cost benefit decisions that are not frugal. Heat sinks are very inadequate and the multi LED packages have too much thermal resistance. A dice that is 50,000 hours at 50C is 150,000 hours at 30C. Remember the heatsink has to run cooler than that by the amount of thermal resistance to the heatsink. Droop is a major problem and is going to disappoint a lot of people. I use 5mm LEDs and use perforated metal - 30% holes and fill the holes with a maximum of a 300 milliwatt device. I have no long tem data to know if that is too large. I place 12 diodes in series and wire an LM317 as a constant current source. LEDs usually fail shorted so if one dies the LM317 keeps the rest of the string happy. Just using a resistor is poor practice.

Right to cheer myself up a bit, I decided to make my 1st small batch of ice hash! knowing I wouldn't make much I decided to only use 2.5 ounces of frozen leaf and popcorn buds, from the top of my half harvested Jack Herer .... waste not want not etc... :) I forgot to document the whole thing but did manage to take a few snaps! Ill post in a sec or 2 - STELTHY

I recently bought a pollinator, it comes packaged as a washing machine but inside there is everything you need to make grade A hash  125 notes but well worth it  it comes with 3 bubble bags a 200mc cleaning bag a 75mc hash bag and I bought a 25 mc fine bubble bag to get the really nice hash, a whole host of other mc (micron) grades are available, however I plan on regenerating my two ladies after budding for a second harvest i will save all the leaves and popcorn buds in a plastic bag in my freezer until i have my 1st and 2nd gen. plant matter then the pollinator will give me a load of Hash which woul otherwise been thrown away  KEEP WATCHING.... ILL SHOW YOU HOW TO EXTRACT FROM THE WHOLE PLANT  ... NO WASTE  - Stelthy
