I'm passionate about my cannabis growing, however, I also partake in other natural recreational drugs such as mushrooms, mescaline, etc. I've been growing my own shrooms for a year now, and this forum inspired me to take pics and share info on my most recent fruition.

These cakes are my 2nd grow of this particular strain, "Space Coast", and they're finishing up their first flush of about a dozen mushrooms each. I've already sampled some plenty, and let me tell you, it's a great trip. I bought syringes of this strain and grew with them in vermiculite/organic brown rice flour cakes. "Space Coast" is originally a wild strain from the North Coast of Florida. These cakes should start their second flush soon, and I still have two more cakes colonizing that should be ready for the dome soon. I think next time I want to try a different species altogether, like maybe the cyanescens or the azurescens, even though they're difficult to cultivate indoors. I think I could do it :mrgreen::eyesmoke:

=D i like the looks of them.

just a word of advice though...
on your next grow. make sure you collonize the cakes a little bit longer....you will yeild a lot more.

and you know you can keep re using cakes after each "flush" or batch that is harvested?
all you gotta do is soak em for 24 hours after harvest. and once soaked...put em back into the chamber for more fruits.

ive re used some of my cakes up to 7 or 8 times.

How much longer should I colonize? I thought as long as there were no uncolonized parts on the cake, that it made no difference on yield? Also, I usually get 2 or 3 flushes out of each cake, but I'm afraid to use the cakes any longer than that because I don't want any other poisonous molds to creep up. Thanks for the reply, any advice helps as I'm not primarily a 'shroom grower.

they look good, I am not a big fan of not turning cakes into casings. But i will say they look good. A Casing yields alot lot more. Yes all you really have to do is let them grow till no more substrate, just white.

It takes me about three weeks from inoculation to full colonization, and I do 5 cakes at a time. Usually one or two may take a little longer. After that, I put them in the dome, and they start fruiting in two days or so, and it's quick from there, boom boom boom. I'd say from inoculation to first harvest, a month or so.

Bring it killa, I'm always down for advice and pointers!! I really only know anything about this cake method, as I've never heard of casings. As I said, my passion and skill is with Cannabis, but I do enjoy mycology as well. I've been doing it this same way for a year now with great results, which is why I've never changed my method. I'm super-sterile and clean, and I've never lost a cake to mold infestation or anything. I also usually get at least a dozen out of each cake, each flush; sometimes way more. That's why I started this post, for other people to check it out and tell me what they think, and if I'm doing things right or wrong.

Check out these pics from this morning; just since last night I had a few pinheads come outta nowhere and fruit up. I told you it happens quick, haha!

Longtime MJ grower here, just starting to get into the world of mushrooms. Finding it a world apart from what I'm used to in the plant world. Gathering supplies now, and I'm gonna be starting my Cambodian spores soon, and FUCK!!! I cannot wait! Even if I fail the first few times I'm not gonna stop till I get it right.

Heres two more pics, with a casing method as described in the link you really see great results. Some things he does like that mister is not needed for smaller grows. Same setup you got there would work well with a casing.

Wow, that's a serious crop of shroomery you got going on!! I checked out the link -- thanks for that! I still have one syringe of this Space Coast left, so maybe Ill give that method a go on my next run. It looks a little more complicated, but obviously the results speak for themselves. Are those Cubensis that you grew in those pics? Have you ever tried growing or tripping on Cyanescens or Azurescens?

Yup they are golden teachers. Na never tried the other two you mentioned. Also the technique is actually easy, especially if your very sanitary, which you seem to be judging by your babies growing nicely.

Yes, I'm almost OCD about being sanitary. My family, friends, and myself are the only people that get my shrooms, and I ain't tryna kill nobody with food poisoning or penicillin from infested shrooms. Thanks again man, I'll def try that casing method next time. Knowledge is power brotha!!!!!

Curious when you eat your shrooms how much do you take. I have not tripped in a long time, but the last time i did i ate over 5 grams of dried shrooms and WOW. It was a adventure. I normally do not do that much but i didnt have a scale. I only found out the next day when I got my hands on a scale and was shocked that I kinda over did it. Also are you interested in a link to liquid cultures. They cut down costs alot and also speed up production. The reason that i have not tripped in a while is I was offered dmt from a friend and that was toooo toooo much of a mind blower.

I'm very interested in these liquid cultures you speak of so highly! Seems like it could pack more of a punch...

Do you have any experience with the dunk and roll method?

Well, when you grow mushrooms, you are basically creating the perfect environment for mold to grow -- one mold, that is (shrooms!). With the warmth, humidity, darkness, and substrate you create, this is a perfect place for ANY mold to grow, not just the mycelium. The problem is, when you inoculate and grow, if another type of mold or bacteria develops on the substrate and you don't notice it or don't care, then the shrooms will lead to a bad trip, or worse, sickness, possibly death. As long as you're VERY sterile, then there's usually not a problem.

Wow. 5 grams is waaaay trippy. The most I've ever taken without stacking is an eigth (3.5 grams, in case anybody doesn't know). I've gotten to where 2 grams of this Space Coast is the norm for a good, visual trip, or maybe 1.8 grams if I want to shorten it a little. That's right around four or five bigger-sized shrooms. I've tried DMT as well as DXM and a few other crazy drugs back in the day, but I live an organic sustainable lifestyle now, so my drugs, food, clothing, etc. is all organic. I don't even take Tylenol!
