Plant growing sideways...

Now I'm assuming its a light issue, but my plant has started angling to one side of the pot... I'm about 12 days in, with three 23 watt CFL's 6500k and my lights are hanging from a tripod handle directly above the plant...

Also I have a fan blowing in air from the side, so I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the angle... any ideas? is it a problem?

you were doing fine dont worry it will straighten up for you in the future if you want turn it around once in a while. when you re-pot put it a lil deeper in the soil it looks very healthy the fan could have angled it if its only blowing in one direction nice job lets hope it female gud luck

if the fan is blowing on the plant, you could rotate the pot or move the fan(whatevers more convenient) so that it pushes it in the other direction.

when it gets bigger you can use a steak or a chopstick to help prop it up.

maybe I need a different fan... I'm using a floor fan that has an oscilating cover. I might just get a small swivel fan that I can clip to the tripod. thanks for the encouragement. I barely know what I'm doing!

Not bothering me... was just wondering if its an issue... I just gave the plant a little splint underneath to prop it up a bit. I think its fine now... thanks for the tip!

I don't know much about LST... any good, knowledgeable info on the technique would be appreciated.

Its pretty simple. LST- Low Stress Training.
Do a search for it.

You just bend the plant around the pot and gradually tie the main stem down as it keeps growing. You want the secondary growth to start shooting up creating a "bush" instead of a "tree"

From my understanding it is used to promote lower growth/create many top colas without topping. The pics I've seen you can kind of spread out your tops and keep them level therefore allowing you to get your lights closer. It takes longer than the basic "topping" techniques because they don't like to grow when tied down but then explode in growth when released for a few days. Another one to reserch is supercroping. Slightly damage stems and when they fix themselves they can support more weight and can move more water. Both techniques can produce hermies if stress is to great. Trail and error I guess

These are photos just taken of the new light arrangement and the "splint". I have two 23 watt 5500k and one 23 watt 6500k. I figure this is in the higher temperature range so I should be fine.

also... thanks for the info 420 and usinwatts... not sure if I want to go as far as supercropping, but I think a little LST couldn't hurt!

No problem. To tell you the truth the s-cropping didn't work so well with me. The lst all I did was tie down the top of a eight inch tall plant and let the lower growth catch up. I think I got lucky but the lowest branch turned into a main stalk and I ended up with almost like two in one.
