I was participating in a thread on abortion and noticed it was locked. It appears ViRedd was "aborted". I'm not sure why. I do respect private property and surmise he may have broken a rule? Is he booted, as in gone for good?

While I didn't always agree with him, (I did sometimes) I found his commentary interesting and wish he were still here. I will admit I do not know or remember if there were other incidents that may have ticked people off, so I am simply expressing my wishes.

Exchanging ideas even with those we don't agree with can be enlightening, so again I'm gonna burn one in his honor. If he's gone he deserves that. :peace:

I too didn't agree with Vi on most things, but he usually did have very interesting points and was willing to converse about them even if we hardly ever came any closer.

Best of luck Vi, but you have done well for yourself and I am sure losing a place to vent a bit of your thoughts won't end up hurting you in any way.

I too shall burn on in your honor, even if it is wrapped up in a discredited Austrian economics paper! (jk)

Debating the idea is usually better than insulting the person, Turtle. Vi was here a long time and may have had some insight into a few things. My understanding was he had a few years on him, people that are older and support legalization are good to find, even if we disagree with them on a few things. If I may speak on his behalf I think he was more libertarian, than republican, there is a big difference. If he violated a known policy there is no debating, the irony is Vi by being a libertarian was a proponent of private property rights.

I'm just expressing my wishes that he'd be allowed to continue...that's it.

He posted some more abortion pictures, FDD said "enjoy your ban" - as he'd done the exact same thing before and been warned...

lol, you'd think the guy would have learned... can't post porn... can't post mutilated fetus corpses either...

Well those pictures were kind of gruesome weren't they? It makes me wonder at what point a fetus can feel pain and how old those
were? It seems Vi felt pretty strongly about it, to risk being banned, he must have liked being here, he had thousands of posts.

There is no denying in this case a picture is worth a thousand words even if some prefer that he hadn't posted them. He made his point and may have given some people something to ponder regarding when life begins. I don't have that answer, but I'm thinking about it.

His avi is still visible, which indicates to me that his ban is temporary. I hope this is the case. Vi has been around almost since the beginning of RIU.

He violated the rules after being warned previously. FDD's action was just.

Although I can't see why Proggies would care either way about photos of aborted fetuses. They are not actual children, after all. Right?

And the dead chicken on your dinner plate was not a living, breathing creature either.

LOL!

but the chicken is far more important than the fetus and should be saved from the savagery of mankind. for some reason it's perfectly all right to rip a human being from the womb in little bitty pieces, but we shouldn't be eating them poor little critters with feathers. kick and scream about a chicken in a cage, but just smile and nod your head at the thought of a human life ended for the sake of convenience. am i missing something here?

Am I correct in understanding you see my point regarding the cognitive dissonance required in order to support both varieties of killing?
