"Grow your plants twice as big!" MiracleGro moisture control potting soil vs reg soil

So i saw an ad for this soil that says it grows plants twice as big http://www.scotts.com/smg/catalog/productTemplate.jsp?proId=prod70262

so i bought some and germed some sensi star seeds and this is the results so far

normal cheap potting soil

miracle grow moisture control

how can you compare if they are not in the same size pot.. but ya it does look nice and green, very healthy

ok.. well the bigger plant is in the smaller pot... lol

yes i know thats why it is a litle bigger then the other one. roots don't have to grow as much as the one in the bigger pot. so your going to get a fast growth rate.

what are you feeding the smaller one with? MG has tons of fertilizers in it and if the regular potting soil doesnt then that could explain it.

ok, guys, i am not going to read this, just say, as every experienced grower will, that miracle grow is NOT weed fertilizer. It's for POTTED PLANTS, not fruits and veggies, which is what our plants really are, in the end, consumable materials. Also, we're SMOKING them, so any nutes not geared towards your plants actual needs are going to show up in your pipes joints and bongs. so do yourself a favor and either go organic or get online and get some real ferts.

oh, yeah, also, the size of the pot is a HUGE factor in the size of the plant, so any way you cut the cake your experiment is flawed. in the future, remember that miracle grow is sold at walmart, so obviously... you get what you pay for. (the CEO of walmart makes 30,000 an hour. Support local markets)

Your seedlings will proubally be fine in the MG for now but once you transplant in a larger perminate pot I would get some Fox Farm Ocean Forest and Happy Frog and mix them 50/50, I also add some killer native soil from my garden and perlite. Are you going to grow in pots or in the ground?

WHAT EVER.. most every thing 2day in the stores are grown with MG or feed MG. there is nothing wrong with MG as long as you use it right...

haha hes just a MG hater. i dont use it but plenty of people do with fine results. its one plant and hes not smoking it so what the hell should he care for.

I like your idea, but I don't think your little experiment goes far enough to prove your point. Now, if you had five plants in Miracle Grow Organic growing side-by-side against five plants in Miracle Grow Moisture Control and had showed us a photo journal, you could have won me over.

and all in the same size pots. you have to do every thing the same to each plant.. amounts of feed, water everything..
