Bristol Palin Paid Up To 30K For Abstinence Speeches

you get your news from people magazine? lol

If they want to pay her good. this is still a capitalistic society and supply and demand is still alive and well no matter what the Democrats try and do.

No I saw a video clip about it and did a search on Google, those two links were the first to come up and they detailed the story like all the rest, I didn't really pay much attention to the source.

You guys don't see anything wrong with this?

A chick who got knocked up by not being abstinent then going on to do speeches for $15-$30G's about... abstinence only...

how many aa meetings are held by alcoholics? what better spokesperson is there for any cause than someone who has made the mistakes and suffered the consequences? do you really see this as hypocrisy or is it just the name palin that you object to?

It bothers me that she's a "conservative", not that she's Bristol Palin. It's shit like this that gives any respectable self proclaimed conservative a bad name.

It's as clear as day what she did. She got knocked up out of wedlock, then took the stance of "abstinence is unrealistic", then discovered the reality of having a child with an absent father and decided to switch her position and take the money. Now she's pushing the abstinence only, an idea she was opposed to before any offer ever came along.

This shit is pure politics and it's obvious. She did it for the money, not because she thinks abstinence only will work. How is that not wrong? This is essentially political prostitution.

...and I'm not sure Bristol Palin has "suffered" all that much, comparatively speaking..

do you think people work for free?
Of course not.

Do you think $15-$30G's/speech is reasonable?

Even if she doesn't actually believe (or really understand) the shit she's speaking about?

she still has to speak you know? it's gonna be her "job".

people go thru life experiences. it tends to change them and the way they think.

I just vomited in my mouth. Bristol Palin being paid to speak!!!!!
Well fuck me to tears, we actually agree on something. Why should that little twit be paid for spouting off on something she couldn't adhere to. What bothers me even more, Who in the fuck would pay her? What does she have to say? "Well, just look at me, I fucked and sucked and now look at me, a single parent with a deadbeat dad". "Don't do it, even if it feels good, for you'll be paying for it the rest of your life, well unless you can get a job speaking out on what a douche you really are".

If she were to speak about her mothers failure to use contraceptives or her own failure to do the same then maybe I could understand the "Don't do as me or my mom did slant". But hell if not, I would give her a dollar for a pole dance :D

They should pay me $30,000 a speech to speak about cannabis abstinence and 'just saying no'.

Lol! Fuck! Finally glad someone saw the goddamn irony of this shit!! +pseudo rep

She's a young kid who made a mistake. Kids change their opinions on a daily basis. The reality of raising a child solo changes a lot of minds.

I'm sure abstinence makes a lot of sense in her mind now that she's dealing with screaming baby...

Edit: As to what she was paid, I don't care if they pay her a million bucks, or no bucks. At the end of the day, the free market dictates what she gets paid, so if someone is willing to shell it out, good for them. I saw a guy pay 250 bucks for an 1/8 of what he thought was primo shit, but i wouldn't pay more than 50 bucks for it. It wasn't worth 250 in my eyes, but it was worth it to the buyer apparently. Same difference as Palin's gig.

I'm no Palin fan in any way, to be honest the family does kind of amuse me in an odd way; but I dont see the problem......who better to talk to kids about alcohol abuse than a recovering alcoholic?
She's worth whatever someone is willing to pay her to tell her story.
