I doubt I'll ever grow bagseed again, out of 7 seeds I had 5 males and a mostly male hermaphrodite, I had another 3 fem seeds started weeks later, so I had 3 17day old plants and an 8 week old lone female from the bagseed going to 12/12. Its 2 weeks since 12 12 and the small plants haven't grown that much so I'll have a huge yield reduction, btw the smallest plant out of the bagseed was female. All a bummer and from using dodgy genetics. My first grow but now I know, 3 feminised seeds gave 3 females 7 bagseed gave one(whom I don't trust due to the hermy sibling)

Myadvice pay for the seeds, I did a poormans through together for theroom and 17.50for 5 feminised seeds at the start of the grow from a headshop would have been a better start :)

Yeah I am worried about the sexes but, you got to imagine my surprise to find out I could actually grow weed in my closet, lol. I've been checking out Nirvana a lot lately and I got it narrowed to a few fem seeds. I'm thinking either AK of Full moon. And probably gonna go with the Full moon cause it has a lot of great reviews. Like you said though Natty, bagseed is a great trial and error strain. I learned so much hopefully I'll get some good sensi out of it, if not guess I'll just have to try again with some Nirvana seeds.

New Video coming 5/23/10!!! Check back.

Love the vids. Spending your money on seeds is a good investment. Good luck with your order. Sounds like you got the right seedbank for a budget grow or any grow. When are you planning to Flower??

Hey guys thanks again. I'm thinking of doing a little remodel on the grow op, been getting a lot of good feedback and I want to apply it all but being realistic. Gonne lose the tin foil for some flat white I'm thinking and I may add a fan or two so I can try my lights closer like everyone is telling me I should.
Mrs. Jane, I have no idea why my plants are the way they are. They just kept growing like a new set of leaves every other day. Today, 5/23, they are exactly 25 days old. I've given them a minute amount of MG all purpose and they're in some MG seedling soil which has a little bit o' nutes in it but other than that I just kinda let 'em grow. And I have no idea why it's so short and bushy either but I don't think, come budding time, I'll be complaining. :leaf::hump:

Polecat, not exactly sure when I'm going to start flowering, I'm looking into whether or not to top given my limited space. If I decide to top probably 2 weeks or so after then, if not maybe a week? I don't know how long I should wait. I'm limited on space but I also want a nice mature plant with lost of budding opportunities.
Any ideas anyone.
Grizz has taken me under his wing and I'm sure he won't steer me wrong.
Got me doing a lot of reading and research so, I'm not sure about this one but, my next grow will definitely be on point.
Again I just wanna say thanks to all for the support. RIU has been a godsend.

:peace:

-Buy socket splitters for your shoplights, they're 55 cents and saves you 6 bucks on another fixture. Double your lights.
-Buy a inline booster fan @ home depot, lowes, etc. They're 20 bucks, far less quality than an inline fan but you don't need quality. Put the inline booster fan in the center of your lid, exhausting upwards, cut slits at the bottom of your tote for air intake and you'll get a wind tunnel moving through there. With that ventilation your temperature is going to stay low enough with double lights.
-Buy a 2nd tote, when your plants fill the first one, reinstall your lighting in the bottom of the second and flip in upside down on the first for flowering. Depending on your plant's growth you may want to hang one light in the center or the side for light to lower branches.
-I would redesign your lid when you get the fan and have all of your light fixture capable of being pulled outside the box to gain those few inches - just so the glass of the bulb is sticking in? When you're growing small, inches matter.

I can't say enough good things about the attitude seedbank. They carry sensi brands which don't ship here plus brands from freaking everywhere. Since you have restricted space check out their pick and mix section. For an extra 9 bucks you get some attitude item like a mug, tshirt, wallet, etc and delivery is guaranteed. If seized at customs or not delivered for any reason they re-ship your order in full.

Ms. Mary Jane - Height + lack of leaves/internodes is a light issue. Your source is either insufficient or too far from your plants.

OK so let me see if I have it right. For now leave it the way it is, with the addition of white paint, and add an inline booster fan to the lid? Also I've seen picture of people with thise socket splitters but I wasn't aware they were just adapters, I thought people we're finding cool ass shop lights. As for the redesign of the lid do you mean to like cut the holes larger so the whole light bulb fits in and the lid closes? The reason I didn't do it that way was because of the heat but, If the inline fan will work that'll be awesome. Ok so these will be some easy rennovations. So for now all I need is white paint, inline fan, and to cut some holes?

The idea of backing the bulbs further is focused on maximizing space. I don't want to tell you to mount the bulbs a specific way because. . . .well shit man I can't feel the gear and you don't want any fires you know? Now that I'm thinking about it, if you're planning on buying the 2nd tote (which is an awesome idea) why don't you just hang the bulbs the same way you are now? Pick up the second tote when they're too close to the bulbs and switch to flower when they're at the top of the 1st tote? You'd pick up the second tote a little early but shit, saves you a huge hassle.

On the topic of maximizing space, I'm thinking you should lose the pots and use the tote as your container. You'll have a lowest profile you probably could have and more soil than a pot is going to hold. Make sure you put a plastic divider in the middle (can be a trash bag or a cut up ice cream bucket, doesn't matter long as its clean) so the roots of your two ladies don't compete. Get some good drainage holes on every place water would pool, a little dirt washing out isn't a big deal. On the question of how much dirt to use, look at the space you are hoping your plant will eventually fill. Being a tad generous isn't a bad call either. Plants should have the same mass above ground as they do below. Imagine the plant wadded up a little and have that much dirt for them to use. For a drip tray I'd use a tote lid and something to place the tote on if needed. If you order alot of chinese you could use the chopsticks even (as long as they're clean), just so its not a plastic on plastic contact otherwise you won't get good drainage.

ok I think I got down wha tI can do this week. Here's the idea.
Get a new tote and use for the bottom half, cut drainage holes, get some more soil fill the bottom tote as needed and divide in half.
Paint old tote white and get rid of tin foil, cut holes on bottom for fan and lights. Install fan and lights.
Transplant plants to bottom tote.
Mount top tote.
Sound good? Am I missing anything?

Cut some vent holes above the soil line in the bottom tote, otherwise the fan doesn't have somewhere to pull from.

Any twisting or bending shreds the microscopic section of root systems, be gentle!

Your grow box is still going to suck compared to almost every other growspace, but its going to be better ;) - Totes are just unfriendly, but it will work.

Hey man thanks. Gotta do what we gotta do right. When I have my own grow space I'll discuss it with you and make it right. For now I'm just trying to make due with what I got. Hopefully I'll have new pics of the improved grow box wednesday. Maybe Thursday.
