My VERY FIRST GROW. PICS!! Comments PLEASE.

Alrighty everyone it's the 25th and I promised an updated video. I'm trying to be as religious about taking these videos every 3 days as I can. I haven't missed one yet. Ok so sorry for the sound, it's my fan hitting to mic of the camera. Also, I topped the plants 48 hrs ago and the one seems to be doing amazing, the other...not so much. DId I do something wrong? I'll post clearer pics in a minute but, for now here's the new video.

Let me know what you think.
:peace:

Ok so heres those pics:

This one is doing great for being topped 2 days ago(not that I have any basis of comparison but, it looks nice)

But this one,:-?, is scaring me. Did I top it too low? Did I screw it up? If so is it permanent? Remember, this is my first grow so I'm kind paranoid abot my babies.

Any ideas? I'm scared. LOL
Any help is apprecdiated. Well, good help anyway. HA HA

:peace:

By the way tomorrow is their fourth week birthday!!!

I thought I replied to this post already. Weird. Anyway it looks like you cut too close to the node and also removed the two growths there. She will survive though, and the next two growths on the next node should take over as the main branches assuming they get plenty of light.

First plant should get 4 colas. Second plant? Two. The upper growth is removed so thats just dead. The lower two bits of new growth are going to come upwards as the new top of the plant.

Thanks Grizz I was hoping you'd see this. So you think the 2 new colas should still pop out of that 2nd plant? So I did it right-ish? lol I looked a UB's way before I did it I just think I got too close one that 2nd one. I'm happy to hear there's still hope.

ha ha joe I put it up a few places I wasn't sure where to put it for people to see it. Sorry for the confusion.

Looks good so far, I'm going to do something very similar to this. My setup will be in the laundry room outside of my apartment in the patio, I'm going to use a rubbermaid tote and use the clothes dryer's exhaust to vent the smell out, I hope it works, we have gardeners outside my patio at least once a week

Gonna follow this thread, good luck with your grow

Whats up, this is also my first grow, I got bored one day and threw some seeds to germinate with little expectations... And look where we are now. My next grow will be more professional, I only spent 30 bucks on this grow and am looking to harvest at least a half-ounce to an ounce. I pretty much used what I immediately had in my grasp. This is a ghetto set-up!!! What r ur plans for the next grow?

Hey guys I updated to grow box today. Added 4 cfls to the set up, another tote and fan. Hopefully this set up will give the babies a bit more room to grow. Got a few concearns though so let me know what you think.

Started out by painting one of the totes white inside. IMAG0302.jpg And cut a hole in it where I put my exhaust fan. IMAG0305.jpg

I took the other tub and cut a hole in that one where I wanted my intake fan. IMAG0303.jpg Then I flipped it over and cut out a few drainage holes on the bottom. IMAG0304.jpg

I then cut the center out of one of the lids and tried caulking it to the bottom tub but, ended up zip tying them together.

I then mounted my intake fan IMAG0307.jpg and transplanted my babies into their new home. IMAG0306.jpg

I then cut holes on the top tub where my lights are going to go through and mounted my exhaust fan. Placed it on top to make sure everything lined up well. IMAG0308.jpg IMAG0309.jpg

So then I brought it up to the grow spot and hooked it up(sorry so blurry) IMAG0310.jpg

And I took a few pics inside: IMAG0315.jpg IMAG0316.jpg IMAG0311.jpg IMAG0314.jpg IMAG0312.jpg IMAG0313.jpg

The concearns I have are:
The temp!! It was up over 100 degrees today. Now it was hot as shit today and where the grow is not insulated so I'm hoping that tomorrow when it's cooler out this will be ok.
The intake fan is blowing right on one of the plants. It kinda had the leaves lifted a bit. Can this damage the plant or only make it stronger?

If you see anything wrong with my set up please let me know, I could use all the feedback I can get.
Thanks all.

Peace!!

Manyclouds, Looking good man. Not too sure what I'm gonna do yet. I've been thinking about doing a mini DWC and if that works out then maybe the next grow will be a full sized DWC. We'll see.

Heres my .02 cents...

Those fans blow (no pun intended) I literally just threw away two of them cause they don't pull enough air. I was using two of them as well... I would recommend searching ebay for computer fans. I just got 4 of them for 2.99 for the lot. They blow 10X as much air as those things and you can fit all 4 of them in the same size opening. I think your temps are to hot due to ventilation.

If im wrong about ventalation, try having your light cycle on during the night and off during the day. If you dont have it like that already just slowly back up the timer day by day until it is that way. It very well could be that it was because of the hot day

Peace,
natty

Nice updates, pretty big difference from the first try, I've already sketched out another idea for mine (third draft) and hope to have something in the works by this weekend. I'm trying to keep mine under $100 (so my wife will be ok with it, lol) so I'm reading just about every "budget" thread I can find. Hopefully my new sketch makes sense to me in the morning when I'm sober, hahahaa

Thanks brother. Yeah I'm hoping that tomorrow will be cooler and the temps will go back down to normal. The only thing about computer fans is I don't know dick about wiring, that and I figured due to size these would be better but, you know what they say about assuming. I'll look into it though definitely. I did everything on a very tight budget, tighter than I thought it was gonna have to be, and with limited resources. Anyway thanks for the info bud, I'll keep you posted.

Oh by the way, does it look like both of my plants are gonna have 4 colas each? Pretty inexperienced so I'm not sure.

ha ha good luck fox. The set up I did cost way under a hundred although i had 4 of the cfl's, one of the totes and all of the extension cords i used before i started. still i think it is pretty easy to keep it under a bill. Thanks for the compliments btw.

No problem, I can't wait to start mine this weekend, I'm really glad I found this site. Every time I read a new thread I get a new idea and I pretty much start all over, lol

I'm just glad my wife is on board with this, she was the reason I quit 3 years ago, now she uses it for anxiety and migraine's :D Thank God for our honeymoon in Jamaica, hahaha
