Dude Jamaica does wonders for the conversion of non-heads. Everyone i went to Jamaica with smoked while we were there. It's like a cultural necessity there, lol. I loved it and wanna go back as soon as I can. Fucking 3 finger bags of red for 15 bucks, all the hash you can stand and Marley blasting from every corner. What more can one ask for??

hahaha, Jamaica has to be the worlds best conversion for non smokers, I would much rather smoke on a white sandy beach in Jamaica than a cafe' in Amsterdam any day of the week. We had butler service, open bar, all you can eat delivered in our private cabana next to the main pool for $35 from noon till 5pm, my butler brought me a joint for $10, for less than $50 my wife and I had all we could eat, drink and smoke :D She was the reason I quit, and the reason I started again

now that's a vacation. When I went it was on a cruise unfortunately but, I certainly made the best of it. We ported in Ocho Rios and went out to Bob Marley's grave in St. Ann. On the way there I grabbed like a half oz of some schwaggy ass red for 15. Then when we got there i got one of those big ass spliffs for 10 and smoked it with the tour guide through Bob's grave. It was sick bro. Like a religious experience for me. To be that close to Bob's body was insane. Nothing but a slab of marble between us. Obviously I love Bob so my experience is biased. I mean the compound where the grave was is in a very shady looking neighborhood, not to mention all the other shady neighborhoods we drove through to get there. It was like a 2+ hr drive. That and finding any sensi for me was just impossible. Other than that it was the most moving and amazing experience of my life.

Sorry for babbling, I got some weird herb today. It's really pretty looking and smells kinda hazy but has no flavor whatsoever. Fucking weird but it got me toasty as shit. :eyesmoke:

ha ha ha Thanks man for the link man I'm getting right on those. The blue neon one's are ok? They look bad ass lol They're 12 v and I have no idea if that's good or what.

okay, I am going to attempt to explain it, if it doesnt make since then just deal with it till I get back from the moon...

12V= it needs to be connected to a 12v adapter (aka a phone charger type plug in). You want this type. If you don't have a 12v DC adapter that you are willing to cut the cord too, Buy one off ebay.

Blue neons are tight but they led lights are ALWAYS on. kinda annoying and some times the prices are higher for them. I have minimal experience wiring but my dad was an electrician for 30 years and he's only a phone call away.

Peace,
natty

word makes sense. sounds easy. and the blue neons are dope but i don't think I need to pimp my rubbermaid tubs. HAHA
Any idea how many fans you can hook to each 12v adapter I cut?

I was thinking it would, its blue light, could be considered a light leak...

I have 4 fans hooked up to one right now. And i didnt see a difference with power as opposed to 1 fan for 1 adapter

fuck dude, I'd hate to hijack your thread but I get what you mean about being in Bob Marley's house, we stayed at Sandals Ocho Rios and took the jeep tour guide. It was a half day guide and very detailed, you can smell the weed everywhere, even going through furn gully.

I can talk about Jamaica all night long but back on topic. How often do you plan to water them? I was thinking about putting a 2 or 3 gallon gas tank (those red ones) on top of the shelf in my laundry room with a drip system into my rubbermaid container but didn't know if constant water was good or not...

Dude fern gully was fucking awesome right??? Probably the most amazing views ever when you hit a clearing and realize you're winding down a mtn.

As far as watering goes this is my belief: Marijuana produces resin as a defense against draught to keep the plant from drying out. This resin has THC in it so what I do is water my plants only when the soil is dry. I'm poor so I don't have a moisture meter or anything yet, so i just go to the side of the pot stick my finger down into the soil, if it's damp i let it go another day if it's dry i water it. not sure if it's the best way but it makes sense to me. Also I've heard that keeping a plants soil wet all the time will create mildew and root rot issues. I think everyone reccommends against constant watering when you're dealing with soil. If I'm wrong I'll be corrected I'm sure but that's what I think is right.
Now I'm burnt and going to bed, ha ha
peace

Hey guys,

After topping using UB method I knew I did one right and the other I wasn't sure about. Now it's kinda looking like I did them both right. What do you think?

Messaged you. On a grow that small, intake fans are pretty useless. Somewhere where air can get in is allllll you needed. Those small fans are lucky to be moving 10 true CFM, you can't get good circulation with wire caged fans, its why I suggested that 20 dollar inline booster. Caged fans move air, but its not focused and blowback happens. Best air movement for the money you could get, I had a 4x3x10 closet grow and didn't need any intake. 430watt light, 76-84 temps depending on weather. All I had was a 6 inch booster, I could have hooked up a box fan exhaust and got inferior results. If you placed an inline fan in the top of that box and cut slits around the top of the soil you'd have uniform intake and a jerry-rigged wind tunnel going on.

Air pressure works on the same principal as a straw, its actually pretty helpful to think of air as a liquid. The action you get in a straw is your mouth creating a negative pressure level inside the straw and the liquid compensates by forcing itself upwards. If you have a fairly well-sealed environment and introduce a fan exhausting air, the outside pressure forces more air inwards creating your intake. Passive air intake is plenty fine until you have a larger room devoted to growspace. That closet grow had a dryer baffle on the bottom and the fan next to the ceiling in the back. Fan was connected to ducting that expelled air out of the closet, you could see the door suction inwards as soon as the fan kicked on, air blowing pretty in through the bottom, moving upwards until its pulled out the top. If you wanted to move water in a specific direction, would you use a propeller in a loose cage? Or inside of a tube? Every fan used for heating/cooling is encased for a reason, it increases the efficiency of the fan many many times what the fan could do in open air.

It looks like you had two internode sets that were strong enough on the mis-topped plant. My first grow I mis-topped one like you did but the plant was considerably larger, lower two sets powered back and I ended up with 4. Congrats on the luck man, I see 8 as you do.

I agree completly, If you can throw 20 bucks for an inline fan, DO IT!

I'm going to look into that inline fan, I want to keep my first set up cheap but I dont want to go cheap on things like lighting and cooling, everything else I'm going to try and keep it as low budget as possible...

Looking around today I saw this thing called Easy2Grow, I searched it on here but only 3 threads even mentioned it, I was wondering if I could fit one of them (the dual setup) into a 25 gallon tote, make my own reservoir (to save on the extra $40, it's $59 without it) and just let it sit in the laundry with autoflower seeds, I have nothing but time on my hands since I got laid off last year but at the same time I want to make it as low maintenance as possible so I can teach my wife how to care for them in case I'm not here

Soil is far more forgiving than hydro my friend. If you were looking to specifically set up a tote system (which isn't very appealing to me) I'd get two of the monster long oval tubs and take some of that time you got on your hands to mount a movable fluorescent tube fixture across the top of the upper one. With something that large you're going to want it raised off your drip tray just for cleanings sake (dirty drip trays build fungi like crazy) I'd try for horizontal air circulation in the case of oval totes. Is this your place? Can you hang curtains?

Thanks, last night was the first time I started to even consider hydro, I was going to go with soil from the beginning but then I had a little too much medicine last night and started to see if there was an affordable way to use hydro. I'm more than likely going to stick to soil until I have my own place. I live in an apartment complex, I'll attach some pics so you get the idea

(mkm, I'll start my own thread hopefully soon so I don't take over yours, hahaha, sorry man)

Holy crap is that door publicly accessible? On that shelf I'd build a box and LST with tube fixtures.
