NeL's guerilla grow 2010

NEL, whats your rule of thumb for dividing up your plants, like say if I wanted to grow 20 plants, how many plots would I want to do it in?
Also, my buddy was telling me about a guerilla grow idea, where people grow in pots and hang them from trees. What would your feelings be on this?

Well do as amny as you can safley fit per patch, and as much as you have time for. As for planting in trees, it's for the birds. Ha pun intended. Seriously have you ever lugged water to the patch? I can't imagine climbing a tree with 6 gallons. And to me that would really stick out, a giant pot plant in the trees. I heard of it but never seen anyone here follow through with it, not to say they haven't but why make work of it.

haha at the tree idea ... what u think about the FLIR shit nel? you think they use that to spot babes?

what kinda yield would you estimate, being the master you are haha, with avg indica dom. strains with only 1 month veg? is 4 OZ to ambitious?
your grow makes me so envious!

I don't believe myself that they can use FLIR for outdoor plants, all propoganda to me. I don't see why you can't get at least a QP. I put clones out in late July last season to make up for the unseasonable weather and got a QP per plant pretty much. You've got plenty of time even if they aren't outside yet. Best time is in May but first week of June can still reap a pretty nice harvest grown correctly.

Hey Nel, i saw that pic of you when you were young and first grew, i have a few questions. I am planning on growing at around that scale, a couple plants.
-How much did each plant yield approximately?
-How much did they yield in total?
-I have 6 plants in a small patch in a swamp (currently in 1 gallon buckets, going to move up to 5gal in a week or so) they are getting a decent amount of sunlight, would you guess they would get to the size of the plants as seen in your first grow?

-Thanks

man yield is so dependent upon so many factors! strain, ferts, location, veg time, etc...

im not nearly the expert that nel is but with 6 plants just guessing... in five gal buckets given 6 footers... u could be looking at +-5 OZ a plant but.. are they clones? femmed seeds? if not cut it in half cause of the boys... so ur looking at max 1-2 lbs always underguess so you are never let down.

Hey Nel,

I've been following your grow for a while and finally had to post something. Do you plant them in a pot in the ground or straight in the ground? I figure pots would restrict the roots but would keep rodents out like that guy was having problems with and would also help you move them if you had to. I don't know if you answered this previously but I couldn't find it. I was just wondering what your insight to this is.

Great job on the site, really hard to spot with all the surrounding vegetation.
Good luck and we're all pulling for you.

Yeah i am aware that question of yield is very inaccurate and hard to judge, but as for the 1-2lbs i am not aiming that high. Since the seeds are not femmed, i was planning on getting 2-3 females in the end maybe less if i mess up. And i like to aim in what i will yield because if my hopes are too high (like 1-2lbs) i probably will not make that since im new and then i will not be let down. So my goal is to get 1-2oz a plant at like 3feet tall. The only worries i really have are people creeping back in the marsh area i am growing in or getting a wiff of the smell from the road.

They were in grow bags before transplanting. I take them out.

Thats a big ass hole to have to dig 40something times! Especially when you're digging through rock and stuff. I'm really glad I don't live in the mountains!

Is spent digging holes, I dug mine 1'x3' it's still about 10 gallons of soil, you can grow big ass plant in a hole that size as well. I wont know how big until the end of the season though.
Yea...I probably should have gone about 10 gallons, but I always grew in 5 gallon buckets inside, so thats what I used outside as well. Now I'm having some problems that could probably have been avoided with a larger hole. I actually have no idea how to fix what I have going on. Think I can talk some of you experienced outdoor guys in to checking out my journal (link in signature) and maybe throwing some advice?

Hey NeL quick question. Make a long story short, I bought some Ortho Ecosense 3-in1 rose and flower care because I noticed my plant are becoming very popular with the insect community. No damage yet, but wanted to take care if it before it turns into a problem. They had a couple other formulas, but I decided on this one because it contained both sulfur and pyrethrins. Ortho says it is "eco friendly" and is safe for roses, fruits, vegetables, and all flowering plants. Oh, and besides bugs, they say it prevents mold. Ever use this stuff or anything similar? What do you use?
