Mystery seed, first grow, CFL

I'm going to leave it in overnight, if nothing has changed hopefully the other seed will be ready for soil
 
Hey man can't believe this is the first time i saw your thread. The set up looks nice man. Did you just scrap the dishwasher idea. I loved that, awesomely stealthy. Hope all goes well this this med seed you got brewing. Gonna keep popping in man keep up the good work!
 
Thanks man, I have not given up on the dishwasher idea, I'm most likely going to try and put the Mex seed in there. The big tote is just for the seedlings. As far as going stealthy, I scrapped that completely. I'm over 30 and this grow is legal, there's no sense in trying to hide them really... The only thing I need is a temporary area for when we do have the few visitors that don't need to know, even my wife's mom knows, haha, she wants to try edibles!

With a few fans I'm pretty sure we can hold them in the laundry room for a couple of hours if we ever have people over who don't need to know what's going on. As long as the plants night time is between 1pm and 1am they'll be easy to hide outside, that's usually when the people that don't need to know are here
 
I switched (18/6) at 2 weeks when I took off the hum. dome. but that is just what I felt like doin, I don't know if that right but it didn't seem to hurt them at all
 
I think that sounds about right. The himidity domes come off at about 2 weeks and you can pretty much choose whicheve light cycle you feel is best,(they all work)
but some people swear that plants absolutely need dark, they say it builds stronger roots and that the plants are like using up stored energy bgy growing at night, yadda yadda...
I had mine on for 24 hr for the first 5 weeks. I just switched it to 18/6 because it was getting kinda toasty during the high part of the day so now I have my lights off from 11am to 5 pm. I'm hoping that'll help with temps.
So basically people use whichever light cycle that best fits them and their plants.

Saw some dude on here who said he starts out at 24/0 then like drops an hour or 2 of light time per week or so until the plants gradually and naturally get to 12/12.
That'll work too but, I think it requires too much work for what I think wouldn't change much.

If you can make it routine it doesn't seem like too much trouble, either way I think I'm just going to go straight into 18/6 for one plant and for the other I'm hoping to be able to keep it behind the tv where the sun hits most of the day and let it do it's own thing

Another crappy seed is ready for soil today, came out just as quick as the first one. I'm still having trouble with my med seeds, the 3rd one I started to germinate since yesterday around this time hasn't even cracked. I think I have 3 more mystery seeds before I'm down to my Jack Herer seeds
 
I added another small light today, here's how it looks with 2 seedlings (both crappy weed:-|) in there. I'm going to give the 3rd med seed another 8 hours or so, if it hasn't at least cracked by then I'm starting another one.

Hey man you know what I was thinking the other day. Any bagseed weed is still gonna be better than how it was when you got the seeds out of it. Those buds were pollinated the shit out of, probably in some field south of the border. Even though it's just some shitty mids, if it's a fem it'll still be some nice sensi!!!

That's a good point, I'm treating them just as I would if they were medical seeds. Hopefully I'll get some good bud out of them and we can roll some joints or throw it on my dual hose hookah

There's no point in competing for these seeds, they were free and I don't mind sharing the wealth, if we can figure out a way where we all get a piece of the pie, (I get the bigger piece) I'm down :mrgreen:
