Ice/clear straight/bubble bongs ?

Im thinking of treating myself to a bong soon. Been doin a bit of browsing and damn, theres a shitload to choose from out there huh.
Didnt realise there was so much to them. Some are amazing. It really is an art.

Im finding alot of words that are alien to me though. They seem to be in brackets after the name of the bong i.e {ice straight/carb/no carb/hex foot/clear bubble/ice bubble}.

I love the design but i dont know what one to get if i decide to go with it... Ice/clear straight/Bubble.

Also, what does this mean
There is a carb-hole on the upper side of the bubble, which can be easily plugged with a carb-stopper from the G-Spot range.

Whats a carb hole ? I guessing its sumthin to do with carbon dioxide, and letting air in ?

Im confused :confused:

So if anyone can tell me the jist of what this means that would be great, in the meantime il continue to do a bit of reasearch into them further.
Is there a bong bible out there somewhere ?

carb hole is a hole that you plug whiel you're hitting and unplug whilel you're clearing.

it's better to not have one, so you pull the bowl out and clear it instead of keeping the bowl in and unplugging that hole . . . .

I'd keep looking around if I were you.

I like straight tubes with an ice catcher . . . . . all glass on glass parts with no carb . . . . if you can find something like that that looks sturdy for a good price I'd say it's a good buy ;)

Okay mate. Il keep it in mind. Ice catcher sounds intresting.
£35 is about my limit though. Not sure what im gonna be able to get for that...

for sure . .. most by that configuration I like are usually in the 40-50£ range . . . .

however Weed Star makes some good cheap ones like that . . .. check em out.

yep something like that for sure!

try to get a downstem diffuser with that . . . . . downstem diffusers are different from the normal downstem, instead of one large hole going into the water, you have 5 small holes or so . . . . it's MUCH smoother.

I just bought a new toy, straight tube, double perc, nice glass. I like the straight bottom over my beaker, it is easier to clear, and I like being able to clear all that smoke so quickly. It is all a preference though. My friend likes the beaker bottom that another friend keeps at my place.

I like mine a ton. It's pretty basic, but a diffused downstem and a nice oversized glass-on-glass bowl makes it pack a serious punch.

Is there a minimum you have to put in large bongs, like the 30/40cm ones ? What we talking, half a gram or a bit less for one hit ?
If i have to put quite a bit in each time, think id be better goin for sumthin a bit smaller ? Like the beaker type ones ?

that first one is pretty nice . . . . definitely better than nothing . . . might give you some massive rips though . . . don't think you'll think that's a bad thing though ;).

Honestly you can put however much into any size piece that you want. But it's definitely good to match the size of the bong load to the amount that you can inhale. That's why I suggested mine because the amount of chamber is pretty nice and not too difficult to use and it gives a perfect size rip. But as to your question about how much bud you need for larger pieces: the size of the piece doesnt really matter since you are going to smoke the same amount no matter what. But if the piece is huge then it makes sense that there would not be enough smoke with just a small amount. hope that helped

Lol, no m8... but at the same time, im not really looking for the king of bongs either thats gonna kick my ass in one hit. Not that iv much chance of that with my £35 limit. Just looking for a little change from joints all the time. And wanna try a nice clean clear hit of lemon skunk from my first harvest.

Looks like itl do the job. It has a perculator and diffuser i beleive ?
I should be able to fit a little bit of ice in too. Cant fkn wait to be prefectly honest.
Although, iv just noticed a crack at the top of it. Its a crack or a score around the top of it. Im hoping its just a score, It doesnt go all the way round, but almost. When i run my nail on it on the outside of the bong, it nicks it a little. But inside is smooth. Does this mean that it could be just a socre or could it still be a crack ?
Any bong technicians out there ?

Thing is, i cant take it back, they give it to you to inspect in the shop and say clearly no refunds/replacements.
Shop was that damn busy i just gave it a quick look and a blow through and took it.
This shit always happens to me.
I take it ice or putting it in the freezer may be a bad idea then ?:cry:


Havent tried it out yet ofc, should i give it any sort of special cleaning first or just clean it in warm water ? Read of sumone saying you can use epsom salts ? Or is that just for bongs that have been used ?

Also, how much water do i put in the perculator chamber. Cover the holes yea, but dont drown the dome ?

What mark on the tape should i fill it too ? Like 9cm or so ?

the perc will have it's own natural level, if you push air through it it should push some water into the next chamber and restabilize itself with a good water level.

that score doesn't look too bad, but I still wouldn't put ice in it . . . .
