i find the that the eziest way to transplant is to fill up the new pot with a lil bit of dirt then put a pot that is the same as the ones ur plants are in now in it to see if you need to add or take away some dirt. once u got enough on the bottom place the whole pot in there and fill in all around the pot with dirt. (best if you have an empty one that is the same as the ones you have ur plants in. then water all the dirt around the pot so its all moist, pull the empty pot out now the hole is the EXACT same size as ur root ball will be. turn the plant upside down put it in hole fill more dirt on top if needed, good to go. makes transplanting alot ezer in my opinion when the hole is right shape =;)

Im currently doing my first grow, started my auto ak-47 plants off in pots I thought would be big enough, but after 14 days it was obvious they wouldn't be. I found the whole transplanting process to be pretty easy. I followed the technique others in this thread have suggested, let the plant dry out a bit (but it wasn't bone dry), prepared the new pot by measuring out the old pots size using another of the same pot. I was very careful when removing the plant from the old pot that I both loosened the soil thoroughly and evenly, and covered as much of the surface area as possible to avoid getting any soil on the plant. It all came out very easily with minimal spillage of loose soil. I placed it carefully in the new pot, then filled in the soil around the edges. I then lightly watered around the edges to try to encourage the roots to search out the new soil. Seemed to work ok as they are doing great. Concentrate and be confident and you'l be fine :-)

Not a complicated process, turn it upside down, tap the bottom a few times, she will come out. Have potter with soil it in. Place root ball in, fill in around. I do like Deluxs, idea though. Would be a little easier.

Nice idea delux, I'll be transplanting in a week or so and I'll def try this. I've been stressing about the best way to do it. With my luck, the soil around the roots would crumble and break of the root or something haha. I worry a lot tho so I guess I just need to chillax

hey guys my northern lights autos sprouted on the 7th and have been under the 6500 T-5 fluro since then and im wondering when I should switch to the 600w HPS?? This is my 1st grow so Im sure I made mistakes but they are looking healthy with 4-5 sets of leaves that are getting big. Thing is is that they arent very tall, maybe 3-4 inches, is this normal? I know theyre autos but it just seems they should be a little bigger. But like I said they are green, healthy, leaves, and I just gave them their 1st dose of nutes yesterday a very small amounbt of Hesi's TNT plant food, some superthrive, and power enzyme with a watering. They seem to like it. Are autos not suppose to be very big at a 24 days old and when do you think they will start to flower?? Also do you think that keeping the HPS 2feet above them will be ok? Thanks and +rep!!

I'm no expert but I think once they enter flowering period they can triple in size? Correct me if I'm wrong. Just my 2cents! Got pics Gonzo?

I would have had them under there from about day 5 or so. Put my auto ak-47's under a 400w hps from day 2 and they grew very quickly and well. That said, they will have a growth spurt once flowering starts, and if they're under the hps when it happens you should see some impressive growth. And as for distance the light should be, start it off at definitely safe distance, then gradually move it closer. Hope it all goes well mate.

I also have some NL autos going right now about 16 days in and they aren't very tall at the moment either. I just fed them some Grow Big yesterday and they took it well with the leaves growing out more but not much in the way of height. I expect them to start getting taller once they go into flower as I have heard they can go 2-3 times their height in flower. This is my first grow as well so I was kinda worried about the height but that seems to be the norm for them. It doesn't help that much info isn't out there since these are new to the auto arena. If this grow goes well I plan on putting up a journal for others on my next batch so others have something to compare to and go off of.

Does anyone have a link to a journal with the NL Autos that are pretty far along? I have been looking but unable to find much.

I got a few pics in my last update of the northern lights autos husalife. I stuck the seeds in the 2gal bags right off the bat, dumb idea. They stretched a little and now you can see it where as if I transplanted they'd be right hieght.

New pics of my auto blueberry flowering in there as well.

plants in genral will grow up three time there size once put in to flower, this is true. But autos have there own growing spurts, not like regular plants. So for auto i wouldnt say they would grow at that rate. some do some dont. autos growth rate , flower rate as veg rate are all geneticlly designed, this inhancement is done by man not mother nature, there for there are going to be flaws. In flaw i mean that they are unstable. Some say put them in bigger pots and the will grow bigger, because they have more root room to grow. But this is not true, if that were the case how do exsplain, taking 5 seeds from the same strain and planting them all in the same size pots and you get different sizes of plants, some busher, some taller than other, and some come out no bigger than a ciguret lighter, now iv seen all of these in my grows of autos. Even with a non auto plants, some plants are more healthyer than others, Mosted breeders will use the best plants they have to breed. They wont take a shity female and breed with a good male or vicversa. but in reality there no way to tell just how any plants going to grow. I say all of this from watching my grows and others. breeder search for years looking for the best genetic they can find to breed with, and by mixing genetic they come up with cross strain that grow bigger than other and smaller than others. some take some dont.

Hi there been following the thread forever... Im 8 weeks into my first auto grow. I avoided first gen auto's and have opted for big buddha automatic and kannabia's flash auto. I chose these companies as they offered 10 feminised seeds for the price of 5 fem. Iam using a soil set up and natural british sunshine ( given the climate here I waited for the photoperiod and sun angle to be at their optimum and started off 30 beans at the start of may ). My babies only started to flower about two weeks ago, which caused me some initial concern as many auto strains appear to finish sooner than these. Not really sure how long they will take to finish I anticipate maybe another month at least. They have reached a good size averaging between 2-3 feet tall with 4-6 nodes. I used LST as the first hairs started to show and thus the side branches are becoming substantial in their own right. It looks like these genetics take longer to mature than some of the other types listed on the forum. Anyone out there have experience of outdoor / greenhouse growing with auto strains and how long they have taken to fully mature? Nutrients wise I have kept things at 1/8th concentration / using a ph of 6.2 / molasses every other watering. The weather has been particularly good, and the plants recieve direct sunlight for 8 hours a day so hopefully the yield will be quite substantial. I really cant wait for them to be ready (im feening badly lol) and have picked a few nugs and vaped them on my volcano to very pleasant effect. Iam gonna try to be more disciplined as I do not want to compromise my overall yield.

Got to say a big thanks the contributors on this forum as it has saved me a lot of time and aggravation. I decided to go with molasses and LST after reading about them on here. Time for me to be patient now... the best things come to those who wait.... hisss lol

I grew Big Buddha Auto in a grow tent in my shed, they took about 3 1/2 - 4 months to finish cos it was quite cold in there at the time. I only yielded around 25g off 4 plants but that was due to my inexperience. The smoke was SWWEEEEETTT lol. Three were around 2' tall and one stayed about 10". If there are any questions about these you think I may be able to help with, ask away!! Here are a few pics I took about 2 weeks or so before I harvested:weed:

Happy Growing!!!!!!
