Thanks cutman I actually chose the FFOF because I heard that it has nutes for the first 3 weeks or so. I will figure out which of those has the most to give as far as nutes go and feed them that. I know the T5s work as I just got done following another grow and the man got some nice results with it. He was also doing an AF strain. Its not my equipment and materials I am worried about messing it up just me :)
Cant wait to see some of these flower under T5's. Good Luck Bro

My Nirvana Auto northern lights is 17 days from seed. I just transplanted her into a 10 gallon smart pot / air pot.

I have her in Fox Farm Ocean Forest and Happy Frog soil mixed and I I will be feeding her light BC Boost and BC Grow for the first cpl \

feedings then BC Boost and BC Bloom. I hope to get some pics later this week, just waiting on things to change a little. Be Easy

^ I also am growing Nirv's N.Ls autos, got 10 females under T-5s soon to be 600w MH or a mixed spectrum HPS bulb not sure yet. Wouldnt it be better to throw them under the HPS with the extra blue spectrum then under a regular MH due to autos skipping the veg phase??? If anyone can answer that for me id appreciate it! they are about 20 days old from sprout in Pro-Mix soil, a cuple are in a Pro-mix/FFof mix for kicks. No nutes yet but for bloom I have Bud X factor and beastie bloomz and a couple others.

Husalife&nickyP--- when did you guys/or are you guys going to start giving the N.Ls nutes??? Mine are doing pretty good, as its my st grow, and am wondering when I should start nutein' them. Also when should I switch to the HID lighting? they are still small as of now but have the 1st 2 or 3 sets of leaves that are pretty big. I'll try and post some pix of them and any help would be awesome!!! Cool we can all compare them when were finished and all spark up a fat bowel:) happy growing

Yeah I know that an HPS would have been much better but I am really on a budget which is why I decided to start growing my own in the first place. Down the road I will be using the T5 for Veg/Clones and get a HPS for flowering. I figured I could quit smoking for a bit and use that cash to start my grow. If I can get my hands on some cheap CFLs I may throw them in there too since I am growing right in my closet. Between the seeds and all I spent about $200 or so to get this started so even if I only yield 3/4 oz from all 3 plants I have it will have already paid for itself. Then I still have 2 of those autos left and a bunch of free seeds that I got from Attitude cause I ordered during their Quadruple Thunder promo.

In my area all you can find is average buds and I have a friend that brings buds back from Cali and I thought man I should just grow this shit. Around here you hear of good buds once every few months and an 1/8th is easily $60+. Lots of my friends smoke so its not like we wouldn't hear about it. It is going to be funny after I harvest though cause I am not telling anyone (other then people on RIU) about my grow so they are going to be wondering where this great bud came from. My plan at the moment is just to tell them I got it from someone that I used to work with. I don't think any of my friends would say anything on purpose to get me in any type of trouble and none of them would go to LEO but never know who they may tell and once that secret is out it's out. Best just to keep your mouth shut sometimes.

gonzo the hps is the best for your plants no dought, it has more red in it witch is best for flowering. i use my t5 for veg it works great. blue is what your t5 and m/h light puts out, thats for veg. on my autos i just use my hps all the way through. also i keep my ppm down on my feedings, witch just means i use about 1/4 strength all the way throught my auto grow. I found that when i kept raising it plant didnt like it and when i flushed for harvest the soil would build up un used nutes. ppm at flushing was up in the 1700's. witch is to high. so now i keep it down and only feed nutes every 3 rd watering, at flushing time ppm is uselly around 750 -800. plants are much happyer.

looks good master looks like you are just watering around the base of the plant though if so make sure when you water your plants that ALL of the soil in the pot is equally moist with about a 10% run off. otherwise when your roots grow into the dry soil they will dry up and die. gl on ur first grow!!!!

Gonzo, next watering will have growbig/big bud in it. im on the 3rd set of leaves and probably 15-20 days old. Not exactly sure. I got that verde stuff from humboldt nutrients coming in this week as well, rather use that, dont feel the growbig has enough N in it to last through flowering or even help during flowering.

Not downing the T5's at all, they spark my curiosity. I like them because of the low heat, but wonder how they will produce .

I had a go with CFLs and actually love 'em , they grew some nice thick dense buds.

I have a close friend growing White Russian , White Widow and White Rhino under T5s and is currently working on 5 weeks flowering.

His buds are getting the trichs built up on 'em and looking good so far.

hey thanks a lot cutman that bit of info really helped answer some lingering ?s i had!! from everything ive read about autos and nutes I made up my mind and decided i would only go with 1/2 now even 1/4 the reccomd dose at feedings, I have HESI starter kit, bc it just didnt make sense to me to give them more when their life span is so short etc. So your post really helped me!! Hey btw have you heard anything about Bud X Factor?? I cant dcide between using that or the beastie bloomz. When is it a good time to start giving the autos 1 of either of those? 3 or 4 weeks 1/4th the strengh?? I also have voodoo juice and cha-ching. Thanks again for your help bro!

I sure hope your pots are big enough those look like the exact ones I have! For how big autos get though I don't see why pots that size wouldn't be big enough. It gives plenty of room for roots to dig deep & explore. The pizza looks like chain pizza too, support your local pizza shops! They almost always have better pizza IMO. Personally can't stand the likes of Pizza Hut, Papa Johns or Dominos.

When I went in to check on my grow this morning I think I found pistils on one of my three I have. I am around day 13/14 from seed. I am hoping the other two sex soon so I know for sure I didn't make my plants go hermie and looking forward to the explosive growth (or at least I hope).

hey guys i needsome help with transplanting my autos. they are about 20 days old from sprout and in 1 liter square pots. I want to transplant um into 3 gal pots of Pro-mix soil and flip on my HPS once i get um there. They are looking pretty healthy with 3 sets of leaves working on a 4th. What are some easy, stress-free/or least amount of stress ways that one can transp autos??? This is my 1st grow so Im pretty anxious about doing this and regret not just planting them into the 3 gal pots from the start:( I do have this transplanting tool thing, oidk if they work or not. Its got a handle and then a cylinder shaped body that fits over the plant and you scoop it out it looks like but Im thinking this could damage roots? Anybody who is a pro-transplanter or has any newbie tipsPlease send um my way!!! +rep to ya:)

What strain you are growing will help determine how resilient they will be after transplanting. I regret transplanting my autos. I did a super skunk last night by running a gardening trowel around the inside of the pot (like you do a cake before you frost it) and that seemed to work pretty well. It's not an auto, so I can't say for sure, but it didn't even droop too bad, so maybe it would be worth a shot.

Just a thought...are you sure you want to transplant? My 5 1/2 inch tall skunk was only in a .5 liter pot (I know) and it wasn't quite rootbound yet. Just thinking, if you don't have to transplant, then I wouldn't. But then, this is all IMO, I could very well be mistaken.

i find that it is usually easier to transplant when the soil is a little dry, that way the root mass comes out in one lot instead of bits falling off and snapping roots as they go.all you do is prepare the pot that you are going to tranplant into, then make a hole in the new soil as big as your old pot [as this is how big you root mass will be] than get your little pot containing your plant and place your palm over the top of the pot with the stem between your index and middle finger. then turn it up side down and give it a little tap and squeeze the pot if you have to and it will just fall out.carefully place it in the already prepared hole in the bigger pot and back fill the soil.you can give it a little water with some liquid seaweed stuff to help relieve any transplant shock and then thats it. hope this helps.

Thanks a lot nim! That sounds like pretty sound advice and a good way to go. I just looked and my soil is dry and 'crumbly' at the top so I would have to water it a lil bit to make it better for transplant. I can use some SuperThrive right? to ease the lil guys of shock? That would be when after I got them in their final pot though right then back fill it up w/ the soil then water it w/ the SuperT? What happens if I find myself with the soil coming out after I give it a love tap and its crumbly or coming out in pieces? Thats my biggest fear!

dude it not hard to transplant, just as she said hole it by the stem turn her over i usely just squeeze the pot alittle to get it loose from edges of pot she will fall right out and put her in a bigger pot. drop some soil int the pot her to grow in then put on top and fill in. Its really no big deal. as far as the dirt that fall out at first its going to happen. i uselly water her a bit then pull her out but either way you can handle it. once you do it a couple of times youll know. i do it all the time. with little to no stress at all. hell i start all mine in starter pots.
