Would you call weed a drug?

weed is a drug...ciggarettes and alcohol are drugs. it just doesnt seem like it because they are sanctioned and are legal but alcohol once once in the same place and marijuana.

i consider it a drug. i also consider beer a drug. most people would say be pissed if i said they were drug additcs though cuz they down a case a day. most of us consider weed to be much much safer then beer or other adult drinks. just as i think its ok to drink in moderation i think its ok to smoke in moderation. if you can make any sence of what im getting at good job.

all that aside i get your point, you dont call it a drug since people dont suffer physical side effects from withdraw.

personaly i found it very additcing and whenever i had to stop it def effected me and the way i felt. i call that withdraw. again, i do agree its not on the same level as other drugs but it is a drug hands down. asprin is a drug , and weed is 1000x the effects on the mind.

I got caught up with that question, since some people might call it that way while others really get offended by it.
For me personally, the term "drug" is so heavily connotated with addiction, harmfulness etc. that I instead refer to my weed as a "herb" or simply "medicine".

it alters your mind and body. it is a drug, plain and simple.

as pussymoneyweed states, i also find it a lot more annoying when people are talking about medicine. i wonder what percentage of rollitup users smoke weed because they suffer from their chemo, and what percentage just like to drift off to sleep real easy?

i think the point scoota is trying to make is that the plant itself is not psychoactive until after the drying process, during which, a carbon atom is lost. i do not know the specifics of this, just read it somewhere.

his point therfore being that you should not state and defend an opinion when the opinion contradicts science and possibly fact (as i say, i do not know everything about this)

actually, tryptophan in turkey IS a "SOFT" drug. same as the endorphans the sun makes your brain creates EVERY SINGLE TIME you go into the sun... or under some grow lights..
drugs are part of life, and naturally part of the earth. some are good, and some are bad. same as blueberriers, and all the other berries that grow that will make you sick as fuck..
do you know what causes people to be bi-polar, and depressed, and many other mental illnesses?(dont mean that bad, lol, dont have other words for it ATM) because there brain does not create natural DRUGS, that keep our minds more stable... and obviously without em, we cannot function fully, and normally. and this seems alot like addiction huh.... maybe its cuz our bodies depend on sorta being addicted to natural chemicals that make us who we are. i was a child of the 70's and raised with the misconception that it was a bad drug. but as i got old enough to think for myself i realized i had been lied to. but i still think of it as a drug but i think of all medicines as drugs.
