Hey all, Im 2 crops in, and so far both harvests havent been up to my liking, yea the weed gets me kinda high, but it doesnt have that sweet weed smell or potency it has while growing, my first crop I definitly messed up a few things, but my 2nd Im pretty sure I followed all the right moves....basically my 2nd crop is a white widow strain, I veg'd the plant under a 250watt mh light for just over 8 weeks, all my levels were spot on, ph, and temps......I transferd over my 2 plants to a 250 watt HPS light....I then let them flower for about 10 weeks (68 days) the colas looked and smelt amazing...i let them flush for almost 2 weeks b4 i chopped, and after i chooped them down, i did my manicuring and hung them up in my closet to dry.....tempeture was around 70 degrees F and the humidity was around 50% both which Ive read on here are good for drying....I let them dry for 7 days, on the 7th day the stems snapped, so I cut them up and put them into mason jars, I filled them about 3 quarters of the way full and kept them stored in a dark area of my closet with the ac on high so the temp was around 65 degrees F.....i burped the jars every day for about 25-30 min...today is about 2 weeks, and I still dont have that sweet weed smell, only if i break up he buds or squeeze them, the smell starts to come out.....i just dont get what im doing wrong, can anyone help me for my next grow....I have 2 more white widows that i cloned and i just started to flower them, so they should be ready in about 10 weeks....I keep reading and reading on here, and it seems im doing everything right, but obviosuly im messing up something somewhere, so any help, advice is much appricaited, Thanks in advance....

I'm very interested in this too. It sounds like you've done everything perfectly on this last grow. Hopefully, someone that has had this problem will chime in. Maybe someone could invent a "cannabis spray air freshener", LOL.

whered you get the seeds from? smell, potency, physical characteristics, etc. these are all things determined by the genetics of the plant, which comes from the seed. so if you want badass plants, get some good genetics.

was your humidity about 20-30% 2 weeks before u chopped cause i herd if you drop the humidity more resin is produced trying to hold moisture in the buds = more potent ??

hope this helps

my humidity was pretty much a constant 55-59% in my grow area...... so ya think maybe i should try and get the humidity down the last few weeks of flowering??

This is the hardest part to get right. I was doing the same thing and my buds smelled like dried out swagg. After a few grows i now put my buds in brown bags right away i don't hang them, leaving the bag open for a few days with my dehumidifier in the same room, then roll the bag shut after 3 days, once the the stem snaps they go into glass jars and burped for a few more days. I now have stink ass nuggets the way they smell on the plant. The trick is to not dry for to long or to fast.

so your saying, dont even hang them, just manicure them and go right into brown bags and let them dry in there for a few days?? whats your humidity and temp in the room??

I dry in my basement with a dehumidifier and its feels dry the humidity is low and i keep it on the cool side. Most people hang theres and i used to but i kept loosing that great smell. The brown bag method seems to be workin out. I tried out a few different ways to dry and cure these buds and found this way the best so far. If your going to hang them in a cool dark place make sure its bone dry or you will get moldy ass buds with no smell.

im gonna give the bag try a go on my next chop in like 10 weeks, i'll get my closet to around 65-68 degress F and the humidity at around 45-48% or should i go lower

I harvested my plants 2 days ago, so they been hanging up since then, tonight i plan on finishing manicuring them then going to put into paper bags, each layer of weed, seperated by stripes of paper bags, my conditions so far have been 65-69 degrees F. and 45-50% RH....and should remain the same throughout the dry, I'll keep them in the bags for 2-3 days and then put into jars to begin the cure, which then i'll open once a day for about hour
