how many plants can u grow under a 400watt MH (i have 3200k and 7200k bulbs)???

how many plants can u grow under a 1000watt MH (need to get a bulb still)???

how many plants can u grow under a 1000watt HPS???

***im currently using 1000watt HPS on a mother plant and 2 autogrowers to bud them. im also using my 400watt 7200k to veg 10 plants, 3 seedlings one is an autogrower, and 3 clones. (mind u the plants were all reg. seeds and they ALL are female!!! couldnt believe it lol one is a G13 strain, and another is a Sour Diesel strain, the rest are unknown). i recently found out i have a 1000watt MH ballast long story short my friend who gave it to me mis-informed me saying it was a HPS/MH 400watt ballast lol so i almost destroyed a second 400watt MH 7200k bulb. i have a light mover hooked up to my 1000watt hps right now, think i will get a kit for it soon so i can run multiple ballasts on it, suggestions on that part???

thanx in advance, happy token

oh also i have a 45 LED grow panel (compared to a 250watt HID apparently) how many can i grow under that??? i put my autogrowers under that after my 1000watt hps goes off along with 2 CFLs 6400k spectrum on the sides

here's a link to a thread like this for ya: https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/39340-how-many-plants-under-1-a.html
and this is basically the best answer:
Quote by "starvin":
"From another post on this site:

  • A 250 watt fixture will supply enough light to cover a 2.5 foot by 2.5 foot grow area. (6 plants or less)
  • A 400 watt fixture will supply enough light to cover a 4 foot by 4 foot grow area. (12 plants or less)
  • A 600 watt fixture will supply enough light to cover a 5 foot by 5 foot grow area. (18 plants or less)
  • A 1000 watt fixture will supply enough light to cover a 6.5 foot by 6.5 foot grow area. (30 plants or less)"

Hope that helps.
:peace:

All depends on size of plants.
I just met a grower using 20 gallon buckets and 1000 watts per plant. Wish I cold do that.
On the other spectrum you have scrog growers who will flower 50 autoflower's from seed under 1000 in lil 6x6 cubes
Or a rotating grow like the Volkster or Omega that use 2 x 400 watt or 1x 1000 watt to grow 100 plants.

You want lots of little buds or a few giant colas?

4 x Big un topped plants under 1000 will get you huge buds
8x topped plants under a 1000 will get you lots of medium sized buds everywhere but you will have to flower them shorter or the middle plants will block the light of its neighbors.

Depends on the plant. I can grow 3 white widows in the space of 1 blackberry. From now on, the widows stay and the bberry is not invited.

rule of thumb is 100 watts per plant, minimum is 50 watts per plant
hi, im a new comer to all this so maybe you can help. you say 100 watt per plant is good so why wont 1 plant grow under normal lightbulbs if i put 2 or 3 100 watt lights over it?

because a normal lightbulb doesn't put out much light that is usable. but you could grow a plant with 4 23w flourescents

dont want to get into ur question exactly on my thread but that should work just fine, i would suggest using flurs* (cant spell it haha) white shop lights etc. its all about the spectrum, you waste energy with reg. house bulbs when you could use the white coil bulbs or "flurs" which save you energy and emit alot more lumens and hold a high blue spectrum which is good for veg. growth

check out my Goin Loco grow (sig link) I grew one plant with 97 watts of light, harvested 47.2 grams

and to reply to the rest ive herd 2500 lumens per sq. foot. is the least you wanna go, and apparently someone else has told me that the sun is either 5000 lumens per sq. foot or 10000 i forget, either way i acknolodge u want to use the suns light as often as available, which raises me to my next question about this stressing it in change light intensity. for a little there before the weather got shitty i would put my autogrowers outside as soon as i woke up when the sun was out, then it would leave my back yard after about 10 or less hours im guessing so i would put them under my 1000watt hps light (becuz they were budding all at this time) till the light went off at 8pm (budding other reg. plants) then i would put them under my 45 LED grow panel (compared to 250watt HID) till the morning when i woke up. any comments on that?

Kinda lost me there at the end? But, I'd just keep them under your 1000watt

sorry, ya what i was asking is it a bad idea to be changing the light intensity on the plants so often for autogrowers, will it stress it out in a way rather then leaving it under one light 24 hours??? i can only put them under the 1000watt hps for 12 hours, and im told autogrower's simply just want LUMENS! lol

Ok, so you have a 1000w on 12/12 and are also growing autoflowers. You want the autoflowers to get a longer light cycle. Correct?

I dunno how many plants you have, but you could leave the 1000w on 24/0 and move the regular plants into darkness every day instead. If that is a pain though I'd just give the autos 12hrs of hps and 12hrs led - outside you could bring in bugs to your others, or get caught if you aren't legal

very true ive bin lucky for the most part i have these what look like tiny white megets on the one plant and leave trails of sticky or shiny residue. i forget what they are called, but it is def. on one of my plants where i see them, i only see trails on the other plants, its not doing n e thing to my plants for all i know except for leaving that residue which doesnt seem to again be doing anything to the plant. but thanx for the suggestion, i am only growing 2 autogrowers atm, a third one is only a seedling, the 2 are budding as i said. then i have only one plant (mother) budding under the 1000watt HPS, so i will just keep putting them under the LED panel with the 2 CFL 6400ks at the sides. i guess the stress is of a main obvious, where the plant isnt getting as many lumens as it could get in 24/7, therefore reduceing yeild, but to how much of a difference i wonder.. i guess i shud start an autogrower thread, cuz i have a few questions about them. N e ways i wish to get my 1000watt MH 7200k bulb soon, then a light mover kit. i plan on setting up the 400watt MH and 1000watt MH on the light mover and vegging as many clones and a few mother's as possible (i have a 15x12x7 foot room to do everything in:cloneing area, veg, flower, etc.) then when i flower i will hook up the 1000watt HPS and 400watt MH 3200k to the light mover (i only have one "warm" MH bulb and its for the 400). i am going to experiment over the crops with joining different spectrums and lumens etc.

whether or not lumens are for the plant the plant still reacts to something similar to a lumen, a measurement we cant obtain so we use lumens to determine becaus obviously there is an effect due to light intensity.
