Nice grow man. I just chopped my outdoor Northern Lights two days ago and I'm very pleased with the results so far. You're dead on about all the leaves. Although the buds themselves are pretty dense, it took me about 5-6 hours to trim what I'm estimating will be about 4 oz of bud. The leaves are pretty thick too, so it's not like I can keep much of it on even though they are covered in resin. The description on Nirvana's website says "7-9 weeks" but I would have liked to let mine go the full 9 weeks, maybe even a little longer. Attitude says "8-9 weeks" and Seed Finder actually says "9-11 weeks." I had to harvest mine at around 8 1/2 due to the wet weather we've been having. Had a little bit of mold already forming and didn't want to risk having penicillin pot by the end of the week. They advertise NL as a short bushy indica but mine had a little stretch to it. Ended up FIMing at around a month and got 3 main colas and LSTed a week or two later. Even though it was a little leggy, she ended up filling out nicely. Glad they finally changed the description from "indica" to "hybrid" because my plant showed some sativa to it. Do yours smell at all? Even while drying mine has absolutely no odor to it whatsoever. I actually started out with 2 plants, but lost one to animals shortly after moving then outside. They both looked identical though. Yours look a lot like mine too. How long did you flower yours for? I have some new pics over in my journal in my sig if you are interested.

Dude.. scrape your pruners with a razor blade to get all that scissor hash... let it accumulate and then take a puff of that stuff!! you'll be stoned for hours...lol I usually scrape them off with a razor and then finish cleaning them up with hand sanitizer.. the alcohol in that stuff will clean your pruners so well they will be like new!!! How far into 12/12 is that plant you are concerned about?

Hey guys this is the "problem plant". The think I am worried about is that the buds are real bushy. they look like little bushes that you plant out in front of your house. Not very crystaly or anything and very few hairs. They don't look like buds at all just like real leafy buds. Anyone have any plants like this? Or know why it is like this? Any ideas what I could do to save this so I can get rid of it? Just doesn't look nice to me at all. Oh and a couple of them have like two tops in one bud. the damn thing just looks weird to me.

Yeah it was just my first grow jitters so i was freaking out! I will still look over all my plants and see. You don't know how good you made me feel that this may be normal. I was freaking the fuck out and my lights are out right now so I can't disturb them so I am just sitting here wondering if my ladies are getting polinated as I sit here. Trust me I am way more OCD or crazier than you! :) I am fucking nuts about my plants, I felt so bad cutting my first one down. I told my wife that growers build a connection to their plants when they take care of them for three months. She told me I was crazy, but I do feel a connection with my plants.
I know that connection you speak of... i just lost those 4 plants and was way sad...lol then i smoked a bowl and i was over it..... Yeah when i had harvested mine and had seen those things in my weed i was bummed and then i checked with my buddy who i had got the clone from and who was also growing 12 of the same NL#5 andwhen he harvested he had the same thing in his.. so i know those jitters and i know the relief i felt when he said he had the same shit in his... I still think it would've been way better had i not let it go as long as i did, but who knew...

:bigjoint: Hey guys I am finaly done trimming my plant out. This is my first one so I got it all done and weighed it out. 80% of it has been drying for a day already with two fans and a de-humidifier and it all weighs out at just over 200 grams. So seeing that it has been drying for a day already how much more do you think it is going to loose weight wise? I know I have to trim up those stems right up to the bud but just wondering what you guys think. I am happy as fuck with it and even if it still looses 70% of its weight I will still be around 2 oz per plant so I am fine with that!

Thanks brotha I don't think I will have a problem smoking/getting rid of this shit! It is fucking sticky as all hell and I just hope I don't dry it out too much, I am reading a shitload of cureing threads. fdd2blk has a good one so we will see. I just want it to be nice and sticky not to dry but not to wet so the med paitents think I am ripping them off. I am sure this is every growers problem!

so the owner of the hydro shop i go to was telling me about another forum site called icmag and there is a thread on that site called "the perfect cure" and he swears by it.... i think the site is www.icmag.com and search "the perfect cure"... However it is a 3 month cure...lol i know my ass would never be able to wait that long for my stuff to cure, but he says he tells all his friends what he told me.. he said just try it with a little bit from your next harvest.. he said take an eighth and follow the threads directions completely and he said you will never cure any other way ever again... so yeah i have never tried it but i will prob do the eighth thing whenever my next harvest is just to try it out and see for myself... we can all talk about it right but until you do it yourself or see it you'll never know...

Damn doood... you can just tell from that thing being all together like that... geeesh!!! F'n Awesome man!!!! for whatever reason i thought you were doing hydro.... what kind of soil did you use? I am gonna try 2 in some of that coco coir on the next round just to see how it does... Yeah i would be curious to see how that cure does off that site... i am not sure i would have the patience...lol i will follow your posts though if u try it.. you will need to get some sort of barometer thinging to put into the jars while curing, i guess it is all about watching the humidty and temps inside your jars while closed and curing... i was told to follow the thread step by step and that i would not be disappointed.

Yeah I am not going to do it this grow I would have to drop some loot on the Caliber III hygrometer, but I saved it for later. Yeah alot of people think I am growing hydro cus I use the hydroton lava rocks on the top of my soil. I just put them there so it helps distribute the water when I water my plants. I also put some at the bottom for good drainage. My hydro guy suggested it to me and I like it! Yeah that cure looks real expecsive to start up at fist cus you are going to have to get 3-4 of those hygrometers at 20 bucks a pop so maybe next time. Maybe I will do it on my Kush grow. Oh and I was using FFOF for soil! The only soil I will use from now on!

Yeah i hear you.. those hygrometers are pretty cool... That drainage thing is a great idea and should be done when growing in soil from what i've heard and seen.. use hydrotron or landscape rocks.. use like an 1" at the bottom of your bucket for good drainage... Yeah i haven;t heard anything bad on FF soils... i have yet to try soil but i might have to pick up a bag to try on a couple...

I have no idea what that is man... I tried looking a little online and found this... it is one scenario...
NO CURE FOR BAD GENETICS
When all else fails, you may have to face the fact that you are dealing with "a bad seed." There is a lot of garbage in the market. Problems associated with bad genetics include mutations, warping, flowering problems and poor germination rates that will often cause nutrient symptoms to appear even though your nutrient problem doesn\'t exist. The only viable solution is to obtain new genetics — preferably from a different breeder. Make sure that you let the originator of the seeds know about your problem. Seed banks sometimes do pull a line from the market because of consistent problems like germination rates or weak, unpredictable genetics. They only way they can find out about such things is to get feedback from you the client.

Whats up bro. That funny plant maybe a re-vegged plant. It looks just like how that is described. New veg growth just keeps growing in bud sites. Looks like more than one cola/branch b/c it still growing in veg, making new sub branches. Reveg can be caused by low temps and light changes I believe. Is it getting cold at night?

I didn't want to hear that! :) may have to scrap it or just sell it at $100 an oz or some shit. I still want to make money off of it. But I think you and crypt may be right. Thank god I didn't take a clone off of that bitch as a mother! Thanks for taking the time to look it up I couldn't find shit today on this situation.

Well it is in the back corner of my sealed grow room so I doubt it was a light issue cus none of the other plants did it, and they were closer to the door/inlet holes so if any got some light it wouldn't be that one. It doesn't get that low around here yet, I imagine when we get some snow or something it could do that but in the morning 7-8 AM it is around 55-60 in my grow room. When the temps start really dropping I will get some heaters out there but I don't think temp was the problem. We will see what happens, I will not wait too long for that plant. I am new to growing so maybe I can trim the shit out of it and just keep that for "my smoke" It wont take much for me to get high and it does smell danky so we will see.
