Anxious, should i just calm down?

I have a plant i think it's about 3-4 weeks old maybe longer i forget (2 much smoking) and it's about 15" tall atm and im wondering if its too early to determine sex, ive been staring at it tryin to decide but then again this my first plant to live this far uhm currently i have little things poking out where the plant branches off (ill try to take a pic later) so any comments or any tips u want me to know would help:weed:

the sex of the plant will show when it is in the flowering stage... a light cycle of 12on/12off will start that cycle. Assuming you are growing indoors and it's not an AF plant that is...

you can start flowering whenever you would like, but know that the longer you let it grow before flowering, the larger your yeild will be in the end.. i like to wait till i see atleast one of two things if not both before i start my 12/12.. the first is when the plant puts out uneven branches instead of one or two right across from each other on the main stem..
the second thing i look for is preflowers.. if you let a plant veg long enough, it will show preflowers.. female preflowers are just two lil white hairs coming from out of the v where the branch meets the main stem.. male preflowers look more like a bunch of bananas as they get older, and start off by just looking like two small lil round balls ..

yeah, its kinda hard to see much from that pix.. now, on all mj plants right where the branch meets the mainstem is a lil v looking thingy that gets qiute big, and is rather pronounced.. one my first grow, i thought that these were the preflowers and killed what ended up being a healthy male in my haste.. preflowers are much smaller than the thingy i'm talking about but can't remember the name for atm, lol..
give her some more time.. sometimes a plant will show preflowers despite its hours of light and dark at around a month or so, so you should start seeing them before much more time goes by..

okay, i have to say growing is just an awesome experience to know that this plant depends on me to survive it's amazing im so attached to her :) i was thinkin of putting her in my closet for the 12/12 this a good idea or no?

no doubt.. growing is an awesome lil hobby.. great for the mind and soul in my eyes.. and the fact that you may never have to pay for weed ever again in your life is priceless.. smoking your own green is a wonderful experience.

yea i bet, i just started to germinate some more, so i dont feel too crushed if this turns out male lol even if it is male, the experience from it was priceless

interesting racer, what do uneven branches signify? that the plant is comfortable with it's size? i'm genuinely curious.

chronicman remember that the plant will look skinny until you flower it. then it'll usually get very girthy, and obtain a lot more volume. i think it's something like 60% of it's finished volume is put on during flowering. anyway my point is to not get greedy. lots of growers flower only 10 days into vegging from a clone in good conditions. if you veg it for a long time and let it get big, then flower, it might become unmanageable. calculate how deep your light is penetrating into your grow. if they get super bushy during flowering because you let them veg for so long some of the lower leaves and branches will wither and die. i usually snip the bottom, but if you get lots of dying leaves and branches because they're not getting the light, it's just a waste of nutes. and that's like throwing your money in a fire.

ok i think ima give it at least another week til i 12/12 so how does watering work durning the 12/12 cycle?
read the instructions on your nutes. i'm cheap and simple i use gen. hydro. with whatever else i want to toss in. get your ppm up and to help with the shock between stages switch to flower nutes. gen hydro is easy, a set comes in 3 bottles. for vegging you want the grow bottle to be the majority of the concoction, and only the recommended amount from the flower bottle. then for flowering swap it, and make the flower bottle the majority of the mix, and ease up on the grow chem.

by gen. hydro. i mean general hydroponics. every grow store has that stuff. it's like the requirement to open a grow store.

When a plant is younger/immature, you'll see the growth looks like it does on the left in that picture. When a plant is closer to maturity/is mature you'll see the branches grow in an alternating pattern like on the right of that picture.
