I was gone all weekend and didn't check out the cage match for a few days. Here's an update on my roadrunner. She is now 15 days old. I count age from when I put the seed in the ground, Not when it sprouts. Since you have to grow autos from seed, I think that is a more accurate way to call it. If you have seeds that take a long time to sprout that would have to be considered. This one sprouted through the soil within 36 hours without being soaked in water or wet paper towels etc.

I just transplanted her from the small square pot that I started her in into a 3.4 liter pot. I'm going to leave her in this pot the whole time, I know it's a little small, but I don't have room for anything bigger in my cabinet. Since we have a few other roadrunners in here we can see what effect different size pots have on final plant size and yeild.

I'm expecting to see this plant really take off in the next few days as the soil in the new pot is pretty rich. I also fertilized it for the first time today with a mix of fish emulsion (5-1-1) and roots organic's bloom fertilizer(0.5-2-1.5) I'm going to use the roots fertilizer for the whole time and use the fish emulsion untill flowering really starts.

ku-long, don't worry about being strict about the rules. Some one has to do it and you started the contest. If there are no rules then we don't have a competition, just a bunch of people growing plants. It doesn't seem fair to be able to pick your best plant at the end either. I have some other auto's going too, but that roadrunner is my entry in this contest. If I screw it up, then I lose the contest.

Anyways, looking forward to seeing how everyone's plants are doing.

I know but I am getting tired of shortening the leash every time someone changes the rules...which is every other post it seems. :|

Seems like most people are having a problem grasping the 3 rules.

They will understand when it is time to choose the winner and they did not win because they didn't follow the rules. ;)
Didn't want to say anything, but....
I agree with the 3 rule baseline having me a bit perplexed. I mean they're not all that complicated, but seemed like my interpretation was different than what was being used.
1 seed. if it dies / gets ugly / not to standards I figure was what this was about.
I'll stick with what I started with.
Picking and choosing as one goes along seems to take the challenge right out of it (to my way of thinking). But, I'm not the brightest bulb in the grow either. ;-) 8) :???:
Wasn't gonna say shit since it's not my place (comp.). But glad to see I'm not the only one that was confused.

Play-on. :clap::-P

By-the-way, the switch to Sodium from the MH is showing dramaticly! Like almost doubled overnight!
Now I'm like, "WTF?".
I'll be adding 2-3 days worth of photos soon to show it.

Hmm, maybe I'll switch over sooner rather than later. I was going to wait one more week when Mable is 14 days old.

I have a question for you guys regarding autos. My 600W HPS will cost me about $100/month to run 18/6, will growing 2 autos be worth the time and cost?

I say 2 because that's what I have is 2 auto seeds. It doesn't seem like they yield very much typically so I'm debating. My only other option if I want to grow the autos will be to wait until I have some more room in the veg area and grwo them under the t5 lights. I could swap out some of the bulbs for bulbs with a lower Kelvin rating for flower.

I'd appreciate your opinions and thanks in advance.

if that's ALL you have go for it. i'd try and get a few nonauto seeds and toss them in as well, because with two autos 600w is supersaturation. you'll be wasting light for sure.

I have a bunch of non auto seeds too but was thinkingthey would take a long time if I did 12/12 from seed with them.
I have some plants vegging right now but they won't be ready to flower for about 6 weeks or so and that'd put my next harvest (after what's in there) pretty far out.

The ones vegging are to become mothers so it'll be a while before they get big enough to take clones from to sex and what not

You don't need to do 12/12 with auto's. They can go 18/6 throughout their whole life cycle.

What I am confused about is that how many people in this competition do not understand the 3 rules.

  1. Indoor grows only.
  2. Runderalis strains only (any strain mix accepted that is an autoflower strain)
  3. One plant per person.
No that hard if you ask me. :|

Yeah I didn't mean what I said. I meant put some non autos in there with the autos to veg under the 600HPS so as no to waste the electricity and light. I figured if I germ the autos, they'll be in the veg room under the t5s for 2-3 weeks and then when the two I have flowering come out I'll stick the autos in there with some non autos and change the timer to an 18/6 cycle. Then the autos will flower and the non autos will veg until I can get some clones from them and stuff.

It was just a thought. I'm just trying to not go soo long between harvests, you know?
