Damn blacklableboy44 sorry bout your bad luck. I hope vyktoria is going to be okay. Here are some picks of Mable I took today. She is 8 days old from sprout. I'm usually watering about every 3 or 4 days(when the pot gets light). PH is running around 6.3, so I prolly should bring that up a touch, what do y'all think?

Probably the wrong guy to ask. But, they look good to me. I subscribe to 2 principles. K.I.S.S. & if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Definately doesn't look "broke" from here. When I go to the meters it's usually because I have a issue. I only use the meters to get a little better fix on the conditions. Vastly prefer to "read the plant" more than what folks say you should do. I don't think you're Ph is bad enough to really be a issue if the plant is looking as good as yours is.
If you add nutes later it may give you the room to come up on the Ph some.

My interpretation of the 3 rules -

Indoor grows only. - does not include starting inside and moving out side, or out moving in. Greenhouse / skylites / all good as long as it's completely indoors.

Runderalis strains only (any strain mix accepted that is an autoflower strain) - Basicly pick any seed you want. If it's good / male / female / weak / super, don't matter. Like a poker game or a crap shoot some luck required or really good seed reading maybe. Pretty simple, any auto (personal breed or whatever) as long as there is Ruderalis in the gene pool.

One plant per person. - Pretty simple. I did't think it meant to only declare 1 different entry at a time as you go along picking the best of a 100 seedlings in the end.

What I hoped to get out of this?
Hoped I'd see what folks do to overcome obsticles in the grow. Didn't expect a simple give it up and do / pick another.
Without a million dollar first prize I hoped rule bending, cheating, lying, and one-upsmanship wouldn't be here.
LEARNING is what I really wanted to get from this. Results from different lighting, different grow methods using nutes / humidity control / etc. AND how to overcome a life threatning situation. (Like my lighting thing).
Hoping this would be a fun, entertaining, informative, mature, & friendly semi-competition. (Not sure if a green pea sprewing electrical virgina was in the mix though. :spew::wink:)

So far - on the most part I'm having fun and glad I entered. But I'll play by my interpretation and stick with the 1 plant, auto, indoor rules. Even if I'm handi-capped by doing so,,, To me, as long as I have a good time and learn something, it's good!

KuLong - Kudos sport! Thanks for doing this.
I especially like how you failed to define how the winner willbe determined. I think that's really kool. :bigjoint:

Now, on with the show.
Great post and my sentiments exactly. We got a bit carried away a page or two back, but it was all in good fun. We'll call it stoners being stoners. :) So far this has been fun and I've learned quite a bit.

Sorry for being grumpy earlier. I have some douchebags giving me grief in another thread.

Anyways...

Here is my girl at 10 days old from seed! I start counting days when I plant the seed in the soil.

IMG_2439.JPG

I feed her nutes (4-4-4) at 1/3 strength when she was 7 days old.

I still have one 85w CFL 6400k on her and a fan blowing on her.

I had to put a layer of new soil around her because I thought the stem was too thin and it helped. Her stem is thicker already and looks stronger.

See how green and healthy she is? ;P

She looks gorgeous. How does the short life of an auto effect the way you use your nutes?

Yes, and did you soak the seed prior to planting it or anything? I ask because I'm germinating 2 autos right now to give the auto thing a go.

That is really fast growth.

hey guys, you ladies look great so far. keep it up! and your lady is getting big too kulong, nice job.

so, when i turned on my 150w i noticed that paloma is getting too big too fast. ;) im ok with obese, amazon like plants.
the cfls are kept on 24 the 150 hps is on 12/12. i have the cfls 1" away. the hps is about 1' away. temps vary between 75f to 81f.
two small fans always on. humidity is at 40% to 60%. so obviously im still at 24/0 all together. ill be going to 20/4 soon with the hps going on the same schedule soon.
depending on growth and recommendations i will drop to 18/6 or stay at 20/4.

happy growing.

Thanks everyone for the positive replies. Just what I needed!

She looks gorgeous. How does the short life of an auto effect the way you use your nutes?
I just gave her my 4-4-4 nutes after a week of planting to see how she would respond. Looks like she likes it! I will give her one more feeding with my 4-4-4 nutes before I switch to bloom nutrients. My non-autos that I grow outside don’t see liquid nutes for a few weeks after they are planted.

3 days before I saw any green out of the soil.

This particular seed, I used the paper towel method. The seed cracked in less than 24 hours and I planted it straight into the soil. Started counting the days once I planted her in the soil.

@black

Hope to see you in round two!

NO. Is this your 1st grow? Not all seeds are created equal. Some take longer. If it goes past 7, then worry. That 1st grow thing wasn't meant to be mean by the way, just curious.

Napa it's my first grow..all good. I planted some bagseed last month and am really satisfied with my results..foxfarm ocean soil 400hps/mh..wide open space so no venting just fans..those beans all popped in like 1 too 2 days..i just germed my easy ryder beans from joint dr's(no relation) and after 3 days 2 out of 4 popped..just got home from work to find one more popped her little head out (auto fems!) so 3 out of 4, four days in..7 makes me feel alot better thanks!

yeah man just follow along and pick up where we have made mistakes and try not to repeat them. I learned something new about air flow today. I did have an old wooden bedside table I was using to set my plants on. Well today I found a nice chrome wire restaurant style stand and once I put that in the room instead of the wooden table, my temps dropped 5 degrees Fahrenheit! Which means I can add more light and still keep my temps around 78-85 Fahrenheit which makes my day.

I started the paper towel method yesterday evening on my 2 auto seeds and they are both cracked already. Hopefully I'll be putting them in Rockwool cubes and in the net pots w/hydroton for the DWC tomorrow night. I just need to get it put back together, haha
