The 72 hours of darkness dilema

Alright so i have a diesel,motivation, and hashplant haze cross that have been flowering now for 68 day's, im a good 50-60% amber on the diesel and motivation and only maybe 15-20% amber on the hashplant haze cross. I want to put the diesel and motivation into 72 hour's darkness tomorrow so i can start chopping them this weekend, the only problem is i dont think the hph cross is going to be done for atleast another week or two. Im currently growing scrog method so i cant really separate the 3 plants, how will the 72 hours darkness effect the hph cross?

it realy wouldnt affect it maybe slow it down a little bit but thats all

I only find increased darkness effects the white family. Never seen any benefit from giving any other strains darkness at the end of their cycle.

Thanks for your input, thats what i figured but just wanted to double check.

Really? Ive noticed considerable difference on just about every plant ive given darkness to, the only one that didnt swell up was my la conf x skunk... Either way im growing these strain's again next grow so it will allow me to see how well it works on them..

Extended dark period before harvest to increase thc content is a myth. I've done lots of strains and several rounds of each. I heard it helped so I tried it a few times and there is no benefit.

Man maybe its all a figment of my imagination lol.. Seem's like when i leave them in darkness and i come back all the nugs are swollen and somewhat hooked.

Never. Give it a shot though. It won't hurt, it just won't help. If your plants aren't in a trellis or net system you can always throw some in a dark closet for extended dark and see if you can tell any difference. If there is any difference it is so slight that I've never noticed.

I like to chop my plants right as the lights would kick back on in 12/12 after the dark period. I do recommend that. I don't ever chop the plants after the light has been on them all day for 12 hours.

how exactly did you come to this conclusion? did you have a control? did you eliminate as many possible variables as you could? did you use any part of the method of scientific observation? do you have any sort of analytical equipment to test for thc percentages?
the possible benefits may be so small they escape detection. you cant just call it out as a myth with no supporting evidence other than "I tried it a few times"

not trying to bust your balls or nothing man, this is just a subject I have often held as fact, and plan on trying here very soon.

What you say is fair. I should have said "quality" instead of "thc content". I've never seen a quality or yield increase. The only equipment I have to judge quality are my lungs and smoking experience. I personally think all that thc percentage stuff is bullshit. I see percentages posted at cannabis clubs sometimes and laugh. Who really has the equipment for that anyway?

Intuitively speaking the plant would:

grow more because it thinks it truly is dying and create more thc for the same reasons.

This method doesn't work with a SOG harvest soI wouldn't know the outcome.

People who have done this should report their findings in here.

yeah really, I would drop some cash on one if I could though.. my growroom is not anywhere near the laboratory conditions I want it to be and that sure would help

Brick top recently posted an exert of a study which did state there was upto a 30 percent increase in thc. I personally haunt experienced anything like this so far as I've been able to tell from smoking it.
