Be careful doing an extended period of darkness. When I researched the darkness period before harvest a lot of people mentioned high chance of mold

Lots of good points here. Thanks.

Its the first time I have come across something like this so I thought I would check first.

Look there have been hot days where I am staying as we just reached summer but I mean that was a few weeks now and the temp in the room stays pretty consistent. I have noticed some foxtailing on one or two of the buds so it could be the effects of the environment. I will just keep an eye on them from now and see how they go.

The environmental conditions are consistent now so I can will be able to troubleshoot from here going forward. I think it is just a programmed way of thinking that I had from reading up on different strains. I am more than happy to let them chill from as long as they need. Once they reached the 73day mark I thought something was wrong (light stress/environmental stress) and that the darkness will happen them settle but when the pistils popped out again after the 2nd day I was left a bit confused.

Shot, I will post more pics before it gets chopped and you guys can give me your 2cents.

So the only thing is that this plant has already gone through 73 days of flowering, which from the genetic info is already 10 days over. So do I just keep flowering?

So with my set up its not possible for me to do the 48-72 hours straight as things are rotational. So from some of the content I have come across, they explained that it had been trialed and tested to increase THC production in one of the industrial grows in Holland. I do not understand the exact science but I do understand that the plant goes through different processes during the day vs at night and I really like the idea of just having complete darkness for a few days before the chop.

I have the space and I don't see any harm in it. It is part of my process and at the moment the quality is very good so I have just stuck with it.

I am interested in learning though ,could you link me the talk? I have search Cornel University but nothing has popped up.
MrGrowIt X Dr. Bruce Bugbee you can find it on YouTube. I think he’s the Head of agricultural research at Utah Univ (don’t quote me on the school) but there’s tons of vids where he breaks down lighting and plant growth but the one with MrGrowIt he debunks a few BroScience grow myths so it’s def worth checking out for all.

He mentions terp/tricome production happens during photosynthesis so they would need light to have any adverse affect and he said it can’t be scientifically proven that darkness helps.

GD Luck with the ladies seem like you did a great job so far. finish her up strong and see what the real potential can be.
