When will I know if my clones survived?

It's not a matter of time, when they are ready. You should see roots coming through the Rapid Rooters you are using between 1 and 2 weeks. More roots is a good thing.

Once they are rooted, I put my clones in 16oz party cups with straight FFOF and let them grow up a bit (using CFL's & Flouro's), before I put them under HID.

I have some getting ready right now. After my last crop is dried, I will put them in my 3 X 4 X 7 ft. 400 watt grow box.

Sounds like they are doing just fine, remember patience :bigjoint:
what is FFOF ?

I got 10 in my humidity dome right now. Bunch of lower branches from plants buuuut I'm trying something lo. No idea if it will even work but hey, better to give it a shot than throw it in the trash right away. I know branches from lower down have the better rooting hormones than ones snipped higher up.. However. Three of my plants boomed. Just... Took off. Way to hard lol. Had to top it. Like... Big.. Top it lol. So it's about a 5-6" top cutting. I got three of those in the dome and figure if it takes it will just take longer. If it doesn't then hey, experiment complete lol. But if it takes ill be quite stoked. Grabbed this rooting gel and a bottle of nutrients for the clones I think it was called advanced Growth or something like that. Good for foliar and root zone. So far this is the start of day four and they still all look the same thankfully. We will see.

*Many years later

Monster cropped my favorite Strawberry Dream plant from this years outdoor hiatus (plant harvested from is a clone so 3rd gen) but use wildly different techniques than what I've been reading! No humidity dome and relatively low RH is the way to go imo. Have tried the humidity dome and higher temps like 80°F but as you can see in photo, I get great results in very mild temperatures, low[er] RH and a slight breeze almost directly on clone.
With a humidity dome, higher actual temps and RH has led to clone failures in the past as the cutting actually rots before roots can for..literally within 24hrs and medium isn't even soggy. This has happened to me even in rockwood where the area cut from mother plain turns to mush and sometimes can watch a cutting wilt over!

Back in late 90s Botany classes with sexy AF Ms. Edmiton(Many after school one-on-ones) I was taught you have to force the plants internal mechanisms to revert and reestablish. Cannabis has a great will to live and use all its resources to stay alive...but when has a bag over your face with only your own hot breath been beneficial? If you're comfortable, most likely your plants will be too and that goes for clones. Resistance to being pulled and noticable rooting should happen within 5-9 days but I like to wait for 2 weeks to transplant.

I'll report back in two weeks with this clones progress...it'll astound you!
