Only those who participate in that ridiculous crap are lost in society... what they don't realize is that there are tons of black friday sales online, and also the days before and after black friday. What is even more sad is that these people are waiting for a week outside of a store to save a few bucks.... HOW CAN ANYONE AFFORD TO TAKE THAT MUCH TIME OFF?!??! I would lose hundreds of dollars if I just camped out waiting for a deal...

i feel this way all the time nodrama ...everywhere I go, that I see a large chain-restaurant or store and people flocking to them, I'm filled with resentment and anger, and I can't help myself. Usually I see this on the way to my $9.50/hour UPS job...with a dollar value rapidly declining, I get paid crumbs to do draining manual labor for 9-10 hours/day.

what pisses me off more than anything is seeing people complain about corporatism....and then drive to DUNKIN DONUTS in the morning, grab a coffee, drink pepsi or coke, etc etc. How about EVERYONE start growing fucking gardens/getting chickens and learning what it means to have REAL communities...i know people like this and they have more personal integrity than most of the consumer-zombies could imagine

and who the fuck made up the idea of a full time work week? I work non-stop, no lunch break, for 9-10 hours/day....you and i know that people NEED 8 hours of sleep EVERY NIGHT. 24-10 hrs work- 8 hours sleep= 6 hours of ME time/day...so what you have, in almost every case- is people just like me- who thrive on the convenience that corporate america offers them...it's no wonder that speed/ampethamines/caffeine (call it what you WANT)...is the most widely-available drug in america....and that celeb worship stands where it does....it's because most people's spirits are shot, they're exhausted, and they fucking DREAM of living the lives of the celebs that this country praises

motherFUCK stupid ass americans...big-ups to the real ones who maintain their integrity

23% of Americans dont even know that we fought the war of independence against the English.

If that is true then I think we are a lost society.

How many do you think know it was the Japanese who bombed Pearl Harbor? You would think everyone would know that, but I am surprised at how many people say China or Korea.

i'm not even going to watch the vid or read the replies and just hope i'm on track, .....

the world has gone mad dumb.

this happens EVERYWHERE -

i'm trying to shop. i have money. i can't find anything i need. i need rubbing alcohol; the shelves are empty. i need a hose for my air compressor; the new one i just bought at home depot. all they have is 50 and 100 foot and you have to add your own attachments. where's just a short coil hose at? not to be found. they try to sell welding stuff but it's half assed and cheesy. fuck the cheesy welding stuff and stock some hoses for your compressors.

3 people pushed in front of me the other day to grab a basket while i patiently waited for the guy in front of me to get his. i finally snapped at the last lady. told her she was rude. she says "you're the one who's rude".

i could fill this thread.

i'm going back out in an hour.

if i had a gun and a grassy crest, ..................... :fire:

Ahh, 'consumerism'. Doesn't the very word just eat at your soul? Con-sum-er.

Ever heard of the concepts of 'manufactured obsolescence' and 'perceived obsolescence'? Think about it the next time you buy something or see an ad for the latest thing.

I use to laugh when my father would tell me that pot,
kept him off tall buildings, with high power rifles.
Now, it's come full circle, and I'm no longer laughing.

I think sometimes people are so unaware of whats going on and concerned only with themselves that they probably didn't even realize that you were waiting in line. Had that happen to me at the gas pump the other day, guy just drives up and steals my spot, i went and talked to him, he hadn't realized I was waiting. So not always are people animals, some are just stupid.

we live in a society where corporations bottle...and sell...fucking WATER

WATER!!!!!

and people buy it

While I agree to an extent, it's nice to have bottled water for emergencies. We had a pipe break at our cabin and there was no fresh water to it for 2 weeks. Bottled water was our only way to go unless we wanted to drink from the lake.. And I'm just not down for that.

and what, may i ask, is wrong with drinking lake water? if you're concerned about bacteria, make a fire and boil it...I've done it plenty of times

plastics are polymers...they're unstable compounds. I'd be more concerned about my plastic water bottle leaching toxins into the water...ever tasted chemically altered water from a plastic bottle on a hot summer day? gross

Budsmoker, you will find any reason to argue.

We didn't have time to resort to caveman ways. Bottled water was a 1 minute solution.
