Thanks. I have noticed one thing about people who have the best grows, or at least good ones. Attention to detail. That is one big thing I took away from my time in the USAF.

My blueberry gum has some early hermie tendencies, but I think those might have abated after I got off the early balls and sprayed with Dutch Master Reverse. Very fast flowering plant. Showed first white hair after one week on 12 hour. Here it is about two weeks later.

what kind of light are you using? Your plant is going faster than mine if you are there at three weeks.
Looking good Free, the buds are starting to show some good growth!
thanks Smelly. They are taking off now.
nice grow man looks nice an healthy
thanks. Appreciate you stopping by.

Well, I had to pump up the EC/PPM to 3.5/1800 from 2.6/1260. I was having phosphorus issues. I was having to do some serious calculating. I don't have a meter that does TDS/EC, so I had to number crunch. I am going to hit them with 2 tablespoons of Azomite instead of one and 2 tablespoons of molasses instead of one for the next watering Wednesday. I have got some plant diagnosing to do.

One month in flowering as of today. I have removed the low budget from my grow, as I have bought stuff for my next grow and have decided to use it on this grow, but the grow would have been fine without them. Buds are looking good, but I wish they would get more girth. The step up in EC/PPM has had no adverse effect on the plants, which is good. Hopefully they will begin to swell, as there are no buds bigger than a lighter yet. Then again, I have not let them grow as a cola. They have been trained to grow horizontal and the side shoots grow straight upward. I like the BBG picture of the whole canopy. You can see nothing but buds, although like I said, they are popcorn buds.

Looking good free, how close do you have your lights?
I think I see where you are going with this Smelly. 18 inches. I lowered them back to 11 or 12 inches. I think I was getting inadequate light. We'll see. I backed them off when I started seeing hairs shrivel. I think that was me over-handling them as opposed to light distance. Another reason I backed them off was because my grow room was 90 degrees and the temperature combined with the light distance and lack of exhaust were causing the bud hairs to turn red prematurely. Things have changed since I backed the lights off though. 1. My 265cfm blower came in and hooking that up as my exhaust cause a 10 - 15 degree drop in day time temperatures (and a huge drop in smell as well!!). 2. I added another fan. The extra air movement helps move the hot air away from under the reflector. 3. I added a small heater for the night time temperatures. They were way too cool. I think they were getting into the mid 40s. So, you figure a 90 degree day and a 45 degree night...difference of 45 degrees. All of these reasons together add up to the buds not having optimal conditions. If anyone else has any input, please let me know.

pics will come later...as soon as I can get my daughter to quit crying:-(

Plant problem pic

plant problem.jpg

My last post pretty much explained what has been going on. I am having a problem with some of my leaves (see above pic). It has to be climate related or nutrient related. It isn't a pest problem. I know if I don't state that now that I will get a million people saying what type of pest I have. I don't really know which though. In addition to the symptoms seen, the stems are also red. pH is good (6.0-6.5). I am watering with pH adjusted water tomorrow. I know red stems usually indicate phosphorus in vegging, but I know red stems can indicated quite a few things in flowering. Any help is appreciated.

As far as the holes in your leaves, I got a few due to water/nutes remaining on a leaf under direct light.
It dried out spots to a point it burned a hole/tear in a few, but it was from Me watering too fast...
Could that be your leaf issue(last pic)....? BTW, that BBG is taking off like a rocket. Anyway, my .02

What size light are you using again? Sounds like you have a really good idea of whats going on I just wanted to make sure :)

I know what you mean about the distance of the light, I've actually been fighting the same thing. With my 250 Mh I was keeping it 15 inches away and it was mid to high 80's but the difference between mine and yours is I don't have that huge drop in temperature at night! Recently I moved my light about 12" away and there is a few leaves that yellowed out and burnt from the light but I feel its @ the perfect distance @ 12 inches.. I also think that heater alone will help you tremendously. I remember reading that you don't want more than a 10-15 degree difference from night time temps vs daytime.

Anyway everything you just describe is exactly what I'm doing besides the heater for my next grow :) How big of a space are you working with and what size light again?

I picked up a nice 265 cfm exhaust fan aswell, now I need a carbon filter and I should be almost completely steath besides the noise coming from my closet haha...

I agree with supa about the holes, I had the same thing going on my first couple grows. I wouldn't stress it! The stems you might want to try figuring out aswell but I think with the improvements your making everythings going to come together these next 5+weeks for you :)

Thanks, Supa. I forgot that I treated with organic pest spray, just in case it was pests. It got worse after that, so I think you are right. I sprayed and my HID must have fried it. Thanks for your help. rep you when I can.

Thanks Smelly. They were looking good, but they weren't gaining any girth. I am hoping the hint about the light and me moving the light helps. I think it will. We had a couple of 20 degree nights and I was really worried about them, so I went and got the heater and a timer. It turns on for an hour then off an hour for the whole 12 hours of darkness. I haven't checked the temps at night yet, as I spilled water on my thermometer/hygrometer and it broke. I did feel it and it felt comfortable to me, so I am sure if it feels that way to me, then the plant is fine. So, with the lights closer, temps in check, and proper exhaust in place, I think the grow will come together as you put it.

I have my 400w hps about 8 inches away from my canopy and temp reach 90F I know its not good but the plant have not showed any sign of stress and i cant move the light any higher...I can maybe lower the plants with a lower table but have not done so yet.

I've had a hole or four(lol) with no issues later... I usually remove the leaf once it gets bad or completely dry, which happens...
Glad i could help brotha..... It's usually something small when we pay as much attention as we do to our gardens. ATB!
lights the blunt.....hits it.............exhaaaaaales,:blsmoke: Good Mornin' World!

Your plants are heat-stressed. Notice the curling 'taco leafs'?
I think your plants look great Nuno and really awesome considering the heat. If you must keep the light that low Nuno, put a fan blowing under the light to disperse the heat. I would also add CO2 if you haven't already because you can grow at a higher temp with adequate CO2 levels. I bought that blower (you saw it) and it lowered my daytime temps by 10 - 15 degrees. You could also construct a cooltube for your hps. I have seen several plans around the net for them and they only cost around $20 to make...if I remember correctly. You could make the cooltube and then connect it to your exhaust. Just some ideas. I am gonna build a cooltube and make a custom reflector after this grow.

I am checking my plants two or three times a day and sometimes spend two hours at a time with them. If you love your plants, they will definitely have your back.
