I have been lurking for several months but have not posted yet because i have nothing to share but that has all changed!! currently have 4 plants going, they are in my make shift grow closet and planning on using my tent for flowering only. how do you guys like your tents? i love mine so compact but yet so useful. It is a hydrohut 5x4x6 tent with white glossy material on the inside. I stole it for a 100 bucks!

I have heard about this and was thinking about the same thing. but i have had 2 tiny grows in there and never had a problem. The plants went to full maturity without giving me any weird symptoms and the bud was great!!

What have yalls experiences been with managing heat/humidity? I've got 2 105w cfls and a 90w LED, a small intake fan and a small circulation fan, a mini humidifier, growing in foxfarm ocean forest, in a mini-earthtainer setup. humidity was bouncing around but has settled at 51% door open and 62% door closed; temps fluctuating a little but mostly averaging 74-78 with the door open and 82-85 with door closed. Is this ok for veg? am I worrying about nothing? one concern is that I need the humidity with the door closed but the temps with the door open, can someone help me with a diagnosis?
thanks yall
be easy

Hey smokeymcpotz i have read this before and was concerned about this also. So i watched my plant throughout its whole stage seedling to full flower in that tent and never had any weird things happen to it. i even pulled a little over a qp from one plant. im going to keep using this tent till something happens but will only use it one more time as im ditchin the tent and moving my whole grow into my 2nd bedroom!

how many plants could i manage in a 3x3x6.5 tent? im considering getting one but am wondering how much i can get out of that space, right now i have a slightly ghetto canopy made of the mylar space blankets you can get at meijer (it works much better than youd expect). so its just four of them in a square and i have 13 plants about 3 weeks in veg and am gunna sex soon so im expecting that number to drop drastically. help me outtt!

I have a 3x3x6.5' tent. I assume its the one on amazon for under $100. If so, youll need a queen size or larger dark-colored sheet to cover up the tent at night because it has a few pinhole light leaks...Not counting the vents and side vents. Those need to be taped up.

As for number of plants, I tried 3 at first, but there was too much wasted space...I thought 9 would be a good setup cause it makes nice even rows, and each plant gets ample light...but 9 might mean you'd have to keep them small diameter wise. For me, 5 works the best. I have one in each corner, and the 5th in dead center. Im using 3.5 gallon pots...which are about 12" in diameter, and the plant dishes i have under them are about a 14/15" diameter...so 5 works perfectly. The plants have enough room and even light distribution to produce about 2-3 oz's per plant.

I have the tent setup with a 400w Galaxy Ballast, Econo-Wing Reflector, Standard Spectrum Sylvania 400w HPS bulb (50,000 lumens), a vortex 177cfm inline fan, and a 9" lasko circulation fan. Temps stay about 80 when the room temp is at 70f. The circulation in this tent is perfect.

This setup isnt exactly state of the art, but isnt garbage either...she puts out about a half pound every cycle...for me its every 10wks. Depending on your strain you might see the same results.

The tent really makes the most of the light and space.

After setting up my own 3x3x5.5 tent, I'm very happy with the stealth and climate control I have over that space. I currently am growing autos that are in several stages.....I Have 4 that are almost finished, and 8 that are "in process". Also have several seedlings under T5 awaiting their turn in the tent.
They're under a 400w hps cooltube, a 150w hps side light and a few cfl....2 vortex fans handle intake and exhaust duties.......loving it.
When mine get too large, I have another grow room with a 1000w hps to fatten'em the last two weeks or so.....

thanks for the quick reply, idk the tent seemed decent. its from some dude on craigslist thats getting rid of a bunch of grow gear he used for "tomatoes". the tent seems nice and its new in box and it has the mylar inside. if not im just gunna get a 4x4x6.5. i think tents are kinda cool. i like the ability to keep it stealthy and simple instead of having to do all kinds of construction work. also its nice in the unfortunate event that shit hits the fan and i have to make things go "poof"

Did you guys make your own tent or did you purchase one? If it's the latter, is there one in particular that you recommend?

I have 4x4 tent. 1 60 cfm ultra quiet pc fan for the exhaust on the top. Ran conduit to suck in the cold winter airfrom the outside with negative pressure form the 60 cfm fan. 1 400 watt hps and 1 250 metal halide. 1 heater to keep temps warm, I have no cooling issues. Temps stay at 78 degrees. I brew beer in the tent so I get C02. I only do this for myself so I have vegetables and everything else edible in the test as well. I gotts eat if U know what I mean.
