Icbc injury claim

So about 2 days ago..i was driving to school in the morning and i stopped at an intersection with a red light. Then out of nowhere my car abruptly jerked forward and continued to accelerate into the intersection past the red light, and when i looked in my mirror, this stupid driver had rear-ended me and continued to push my car forward with such force and motion that it seemed as if she was pressing the gas pedal not the break. So i quickly swerved into the next lane to get out of her way and she eventually pulled over 1 block from the scene as i followed her. We got out to exchange information and i was the one who asked if she was ok, she seemd dazed (more drunk looking) but quickly gave me her drivers license info. I checked out her car...it was a grey toyota corolla, and her whole entire front , including her hood was completely smashed-in. There was a foot gap between the bumper and the hood and i could clearly see her radiator all smashed and twisted. I drive a lexus suv and my back bumper didnt receive much severe damage but was deformed as the force pushed from the middle outwards, but certainly there was frame damage :(. My trunk was somewhat dented. Soon after the info exchange, she quickly left. I then left the scene and parked in my school parking lot and called icbc for the claim and made an appointment. Later that day i arrived for the appointment and had everything checked out and the claim was completely covered as the other driver had already confessed (turns out to be roughly $3000 in damage and another $1000 from a previous claim..errr...thats $4000...but frame damage is not covered!)

But the point is..when she had hit my car, the impact felt as if she was going at 30km/hour cuz i instantly felt the whiplash at the moment. The front end of the hitter (was a female driver..) was completely totaled when i took a look, she could have killed me if she had came at a different angle! But now after 2 days, im suffering some neck, back, and shoulder pains. I have seen a doctor on the same day as the crash. Anyone have any information or tips they can provide me cuz im looking at a huge injury claim from icbc, im not sure if a lawyer is required for this. Or has anyone had the same experience and would like to share with me?

Anytime you get into an accident it is always best to get the police there to file a report for just such cases like this. States vary, but alot of insurance companies are hesitant to pay up unless a police report was filed. Seems like alot of them try not to pay unless a report is on record. Your lucky that this lady fessed up to being at fault and that she seems to have insurance. You might try contacting her insurance company and asking them for advice on how to seek medical treatment. Glad it wasn't any worse than it was. Good luck.

And its any wonder we have to pay stupid insurance premiums just to be able to drive a car.
Look dude if you are genuinely hurt then go see a Dr. but my guess is your a little sore from being in an accident it happens.....Hell I get a damn sore neck whenever I go see a thrash metal band...Whatever you do.......know that buddies advice above is just plain wrong no matter how you try and justify it. Peace

If you're hurt go see a doctor.

Always at least get a free consult from a lawyer, any decent one will tell you if you have a case or not.

Don't fake shit though, if you're hurt you're hurt. No point in being dishonest.

Are you guys crazy?? There is no dishonesty here and I have every right to claim my injury from that stupid bitch! You know how traumatic i was after that?? At 8:30 am on a weekday just driving to school, and this drunk bitch crashes into me out of nowhere...you bet ima sue her ass! Her car has been completed and there is permanent frame damage on my car thats not covered! And good thing icbc is covering the my spare missing rim that just happened to disappear from under my car after the crash cuz it must have fell out or it would cost me another $700...but w.e. still not fucking worth it. So i have done some research and will follow all your advice of continuous trips to the docs'...my soreness just became incredibly worse from the whiplash im feeling lots of fatigue for some reason...just wanna keep sleeping. Im gonna need maryjane from here on out! Thank you all!

This has to be the stupidest advice I have EVER read online... I even go back to the old BBS days and 2400 baud modems, and I have never, until today, lost faith in my fellow man....

The fact that the driver was sitting still and then suddenly launched forward from a dead stand still will produce a possible concussion. Also, if the head rest is fixed or not adequately adjusted, the head would snap back upon impact before being thrown forward. I'm also curious why police were not called. Did you have to siign any type of waiver to receive the check for auto body damage?

You need to contact an injury lawyer and do so right away. Most will offer a free consultation and initial advice.

You have suffered a concussion more than likely. See my previous advice.
