So about 2 days ago..i was driving to school in the morning and i stopped at an intersection with a red light. Then out of nowhere my car abruptly jerked forward and continued to accelerate into the intersection past the red light, and when i looked in my mirror, this stupid driver had rear-ended me and continued to push my car forward with such force and motion that it seemed as if she was pressing the gas pedal not the break. So i quickly swerved into the next lane to get out of her way and she eventually pulled over 1 block from the scene as i followed her. We got out to exchange information and i was the one who asked if she was ok, she seemd dazed (more drunk looking) but quickly gave me her drivers license info. I checked out her car...it was a grey toyota corolla, and her whole entire front , including her hood was completely smashed-in. There was a foot gap between the bumper and the hood and i could clearly see her radiator all smashed and twisted. I drive a lexus suv and my back bumper didnt receive much severe damage but was deformed as the force pushed from the middle outwards, but certainly there was frame damage . My trunk was somewhat dented. Soon after the info exchange, she quickly left. I then left the scene and parked in my school parking lot and called icbc for the claim and made an appointment. Later that day i arrived for the appointment and had everything checked out and the claim was completely covered as the other driver had already confessed (turns out to be roughly $3000 in damage and another $1000 from a previous claim..errr...thats $4000...but frame damage is not covered! )
But the point is..when she had hit my car, the impact felt as if she was going at 30km/hour cuz i instantly felt the whiplash at the moment. The front end of the hitter (was a female driver..) was completely totaled when i took a look, she could have killed me if she had came at a different angle! But now after 2 days, im suffering some neck, back, and shoulder pains. I have seen a doctor on the same day as the crash. Anyone have any information or tips they can provide me cuz im looking at a huge injury claim from icbc, im not sure if a lawyer is required for this. Or has anyone had the same experience and would like to share with me?
