arent ozone generators dangerous for you and your plants... i read some where that ozone also has a smell to it which can cause problems

Very nice grow che!!! thanks for sharing your experience. was your fan bolted directly into the cab or was it hanging?
My fan is bolted directly to the cab. Keeps everything nice and tight with no vibration. I find that some of those Ozone generators leave a smell in a room to when they cover they get rid of the weed smell. I just run a carbon filter and it covers everything nicely. I managed to yield 105g off 3 plant scrog for last grow. Will do me nicely till next ones are ready.

What sort of lights are you going to run @southern gold? My cab has a 400w MH/HPS and temps aren't really an issue. Have it set up close enough to an open window and it vents the warm air very well.

O3 in MASSIVE amounts can be harmfull, yes. BUT, not in small doses like that, and no its not bad for ur plants in small doses either.

Heres how u know ur safe

ozone generators use high volt electrical arcs to creat O3 (ozone)
O3 is HIGHLY reactive with odors and floating molecules and immediately attachs to them
O3 has a detectable smell in large doses

If u cant smell the ozone, its NOT harmfull.
Also, theres a difference between a "clean" smell and OZONE
they sell these things for pet odor control, home/indoor gardens, large business use em to keep the store smelling fresh.
you have probably been in an ozone treated room several times and never knew it...

O3 isnt a big deal, just dont inhale it straight from the emiter and ur fine.

for lights im just workin with cfls right now... i may go up to leds or prolly 150w hps once i get a few rotations under my belt

i should note that i had a buddy who made industrial ozone machines (we are talking for huge chemical warehouses and things) and when i would go into his building where he had things things running, i could immediately smell it, and after about 10-20 minutes my teeth started feelin odd and u can notice that something is definately wrong... but this dude worked in that building every day for years and years, no problems...

idk, its been proven that it can be harmfull
but its kinda like acid an pot, can it be harmfull? yea... just dont be dumb.

ok ww that doesnt sound bad.. im gonna have to check these things out ... and if i dont have any excess plant odors to cover up with it i can always use it for my 2 dogs and cat!
if it works then it (ozone generator) and the carbon filter should totally cover up any and all smell right?

i guess ill just have to see what the carbon filter can do... i just dont wanna have abort grow half way thru... are there any other backup plans for sudden odor escape

completely, yes. Most people use them in combination. I WILL admit however that its not as affective as a carbon filter, the differnce is no filters to replace and its like the size of a paper towel roll (the cardboard).

Carbon Filter
Ozone generator
Omna Gels and odor trapping chemicals
odor COVERING chemicals (cinimin plants, perfumes, fabreeze)

those are the 4 common methods ive seen from most to least affective.
Note: odor covering chemicals are affective in that they add smells, but dont really take anything away, they wont keep anything stealth at all...

i have carbon filters scrubbing my closet and an ozone indoors, but i have a second ozone that i can put in the front of my house or in my room JUST incase. never had to use it tho.

also, just a tip, if ur doing wiring urself, wire ur lights and ur fans together... u dont want to have ur fan stop working for some reason and ur light still running and burnin up the poor little plants.

if i start with carbon filter and keep ona as a back up for anything escaping do yall think that will be enough ... then if i need i can go with ozone...
or is the ona not gonna work at all

i want to get everything pre wired if possible cuz i dont know what im doin ( not to a professional degree anyway) when it comes to that and i DONT want any fires....
but i can put them on the same power strip or something

ive never even tried ona, seemed like a waist, its a huge product in gro stores tho so there must be SOME legitimacy to it.
Honestly tho, a Ozone is lke 130 bucks if u get a cheap small volume one (and if ur worried about dangers ull feel safer with a small volume one anyways) and ull keep it FOREVER. Idk, thats my last push, if u want to do ona go for it... tell me if it works. (seriously, ive never tried it, im curious)

that might work, just make sure all systems are on one breaker (multiple plugs may be attached to a breaker, so the trick is learning which go to which, or do it the safe way and use a power strip like u said)

thanks ww i think ill prolly get an ozone gen if they are that cheap and you can use them for pet smell anyway. would they help with smoke at all??

like if i put it in the room i was smokin in how much would it help
