its the same shit man no need to change if your using an led
It's amazing to me how much dogma there is in the dialog around here. Opinions are one thing, facts are another. Why is everything personalized? And what happened to critical thinking skills? Nevermind a sense of fairness. Plenty of self-satisfied, closed-minded folks on any board, but it seems particularly distressing on one like this.wow man i was just browsing some threads and found one with some great hydro advice but god damn if they arent light nazis up in that bitch lol they cant accept the fact that an LED even when you admit all the drawbacks they have like harder to get the same yeild they cant accept the fact that LED's have a place in growing they say LED"s cant even grow a plant and they are also in there yelling about induction and how its an overglorified fluoro lol. Fuckin nazi's. I dont ask for people to like led's i ask for them to realize they exist and arent going anywhere they are a viable alternative.
Where can I look at that light? I'm not familiar with the 357mag.ok got a 2.5x4.5x7 space and i want an all round light. i have 1 100w cfl in reflector 5000k. so my question is would i be better off getting a 357 magnum or two blackstars 240w?? i would like to do 6-10 plants 3' high max in DWC
i've read all the thread but it seems to me that the blackstars are a lil dominent on the flowing side, and the 357 magnum has a switch for veg and flower. Does that mean it turns off some of the lights?? I'm confused... i want to feed these babies with the best spectrum.
So i guess another way to ask the question is would two blackstars be superior to a 357 magnum?
The 357 has 11 spectrums the blackstar has 6. these are the two i'm trying to decide on.
The 357 uses all bridglux which is a step below Cree's and the blackstar uses cree's (just a few) and the rest are common leds.
Also the blackstar has 2w reg. LEDs and a few 3w Cree's
The 357 uses all 3w briglux. And i believe the 357 pulls 330watts <(estiment) i think that's what i read somewhere but i forgot and can't find it again.
I know i suck at asking questions.
This is what i've come to understand and i might be wrong on some of the facts but 95% sure it's true. ne thoughts would be GREATLY appriciated
PS i'm not computer smart so i don't know how to do links and pics. Found this great thread on LEDs and thought i could get some feed back here.
Thx
If i were in your shoes I would probably go with the blackstar. There isnt really any info on the website about the specs of the 357 magnum. And for 700 bucks u could get two 300watt blackstars and cover a much larger areahttp://357magled.3dcartstores.com/LED_questions.html that is more info related.
http://357magled.3dcartstores.com/357_magnum_LED.html pic and bit more info
guess links are that easy... i need to get into computers more...
Hope that helps.
that is true but would the blackstars have the penetration??i would like to have both of thoes worlds. Spread and penitration. If i were in your shoes I would probably go with the blackstar. around 330 i think i saw somewhere but now i can't find it. My alytimers acting uphow many watts is it?

Because the blackstar and the 357 aren't running 100% or bulbs would not last long. so for sake of argument. they both run 50% and thats 3w that are now coser to 1.5w and the 2w is now closer to 1w so wouldn't i just go with higher watt for penetration; and broader and more accurate spectrum??? myabe i'm missing something. i know having two lightsources is usually better than one.
Didn't you have one??? A blackstar if u do how was it?? me suck at typing.
where did you get your blackstars?? from lighthouse or ebay .... ima lil worried of ordering off websites.I have a 500W blackstar and a 240W blackstar. The penetration is there indeed. The 357 magnum is good too, but so is twice the light for the money. Your going to LED's to save money, not spend it IMO.

LED's are the future! if we think other wise look at the past, how many flash lights do you see on the market that are led now.. I'd say its a simple misunderstanding since they aren't willing to experiment then let them learn in time, but we will progress and find techniques ourselves and have fun growing.wow man i was just browsing some threads and found one with some great hydro advice but god damn if they arent light nazis up in that bitch lol they cant accept the fact that an LED even when you admit all the drawbacks they have like harder to get the same yeild they cant accept the fact that LED's have a place in growing they say LED"s cant even grow a plant and they are also in there yelling about induction and how its an overglorified fluoro lol. WOW thnx! I've been doing some more searchin and i might have to try one. Hopefully one with the 3wHO Cree's. i've found a few but still looking. Never know what you might find. thanks foe the info. lil more relaxed about buying from them. Thnx again. +repI called the number off of ebay, that beings you to their shop in NY, they are there during the weekdays, and probably on weekends. I have family I saw there around the holidays and stopped by in person as I was a bit suspect of the price, and wanted to see them in person prior to buying from them. I was impressed, and shelled out the cash for them. They do a lot of business off of ebay, and it is totally safe, they are on amazon too, and if you google gotham hydro, they have a website, but the website is horribly put together. They do most of their business through their ebay store though. Give them a call if you want to do that...
Please note that I am in no way affiliated, sponsored by, paid by, or stand to gain any benefit by or from blackstar, lighthouse, or gotham hydro. A lot of people are starting to become "distributors", "sales people" or "marketers" for LED companies, and their get some kind of benefit or what have you, for pushing certain companies on forums as such. I am not like that, I just like blackstar LED's. Hence why I own 750W worth of them. (and didn't spend over 1000 to do so)
Where can I look at that light? I'm not familiar with the 357mag.

Gotta love the "become an affiliate" section under the "make money" tab. This will be all over shortly and everyone will be pushing these. They seem to work really well, but I see this as just another step in keeping effective sized LED's (300W+) around the 5-700 dollar mark. As long as the price is that high, LED technology will never become mainstream.
well on ebay i found the lighthouse 240w and a ufo 180w = 420w for 533.85 w/shipping
